I'm in no hurry to move up to the new formats, especially considering I'm planning to buy a portable media device. In fact, I'm in the process of converting all my 720x480 DVD recordings/tv recordings/Divx shows to smaller mpeg4 files.

I'll move up to the next gen formats when players drop to ~$100.

    Bump ko lang...

    Blu-ray has currently been enjoying a 3:1 lead over HD-DUD :D

The situation was different noong 2006. HD-DVD launched first, and they took the lead hanggang end of the year.

Pero now...starting from January of this year, Blu-ray launched its offensive and grabbed the lead in that month with tons of new releases and the PS3 leading the offensive in hardware sales.

And a few days after the PAL launch ng PS3, more than 1 million units have been sold and more than 500k copies of Casino Royale (Blu-ray version) were given away for free :D

This looks like the end is nearing for HD-DVD.

free ko din naman nakuha Casino Royale ko, natulog muna ako pag-gising ko available na. burn then kabit ko player ko sa 2 yr old epson projector ko. cinema-like feel

the only thing na nakikita ko useful sa Blu-ray is the capacity 25GB single-layer, 50GB double layer.

More to do with the screen quality than brand. BTW, yung Sony at Samsung 1080P LCDs may diperensya daw.
