The five(5) window-type ACs I bought for our house 6 years ago,- ok pa silang lahat....

Bro. Qwerty, wala akong nakikitang inverter type na window-type AC,- split type lang so far....

Bro. Qwerty,- I am not sure how to measure, but over time, the efficiency of the AC to cool down the room diminishes.... I am not sure how to gauge where the inflection point is, but at that point, it will be a good time to buy a new AC which should present you with higher efficiency and lower electric bills....

Maybe, some experts here can help....

We've used Panasonic, GE, Kelvinator and Carrier and they all last long enough to the day we decide to upgrade (usually after 7-10 years). Cleaning once a year, clean the filter monthly, used every night for 8 to 10 hours. No repairs ever needed.

I just bought a new Samsung 3/4 HP yesterday, brand new through an advertiser at Sulit.com... hopefully the brand turns out okay. Price was okay enough to swing us to try it from our usual Panasonic/GE/Carrier at 10.4K.

4 panasonic (3 1HP and1 3/4HP)namin nag-abot-abot na. pinaka matanda yung 1996, inabot ng isa nung 2000 tapos 2 last year. pare parehas ang performance. once a year binababa after new year for cleaning para ready pag pasok ng summer heat. nagpapatulong lang ako magbuhat tapos i use my pressure washer - no no to sosa or lye.

yung nasira namin na AC isang GE 3/4 hp and carrier 1hp. parehong

twice nasira after repair. sa mga 1.5 hp naman so far okay pero kulang na sa lamig kaya pa sched ko clean this week.

may factor ba yung vent i mean kung naiinitan yung likuran ng AC, pag gamit namin kasi sabay sabay may isang common area yung likuran ng mga ac,

    napakainit.

    thanks

I used to think it was Carrier but the last one I bought around 2003 is starting to conk out already so I guess their quality has declined over the years. Our other Carrier ago bought around 1992 is working better than the 2003 Carrier. We have our ACs cleaned every year and we only use it often during summer.

I checked out some ACs last week and I have decided that may next purchase will be National Panasonic. I've heard a lot of good feedback about it.

On a related note to this, we were shopping for a .5hp a/c earlier this year; i compared the Samsung, Carrier and Panasonic. We got the Panasonic as it still retained steel and plastic partitioning inside versus the others which used mostly styrofoam inside the units.

On the a/c installation location, if its hit by sunlight and air circulation is not too good then it will definitely be subjected to more stress over a well-ventilated and shaded unit.

meron sila advertise bago Condura extreme for extreme conditions.

1 yr old palang unit.

dapat bilhin ko talaga last year yung panasonic, walang stock ang western that time. yung vent namin mainit lang talaga baka may factor nga. bakit sa saudi more than 40degrees kaya pa ng mga aircon nila dapat here pang saudi condition na

Nakita ko rin yun. Parang mas ok pa yung luma. Yung bago parang expose sa dust check niyo yung gilid.

Free AC cleaning ang Carrier good for 1 year. (2x)

Kakapalinis ko lang kanina ng Carrier namin .5HP sobrang dumi na pala ng AC namin without touching it for 8 months. Kahapon ako tumawag then pumunta ngayon yung naglinis.

I'd say Carrier - Condura - Kelvinator are still very much good choices. Among the three, Kelvinator is the cheapest although its argueable that all three are pretty much the same.

Panasonics are as expensive as Carriers I think, but I'd say have also good quality.

When we were canvassing at Ansons, they say that the Samsung aircons had the most returns/repairs. I just don't know how accurate their statements are.

By the way, I'm selling a Kelvinator 1HP Window Type [Energy Series] (just a month+ used) for 12k. We ended up getting the wrong horsepower for the room size which is just about 20+ square meters. PM if anyone's interested/more info! Thanks!

We have 2 Kolin 1HP gamit namin. Meron din kaming Carrier 1.5 HP. Yung Carrier, 7 years na, in good working condition pa rin. We switched to Kolin kasi, "no drip" siya. We have to install a hose para di mabasa yung ground floor namin, kasi parang may gripo yung likod ng Carrier, lakas ng tulo.....

haha, I was in the same shoes a few weeks ago.

I ended up getting an LG 1.5hp (LA150R).

Initially, I was decided to buy Panasonic being a believer of their splits.

Pero mababa ang cooling capacity for the same hp (12,000kj/h) vs LG150R (13,200kj/hr).

Nakita ko rin samsung but with my bad experiences from that product from IT to Appliances, I skipped it. No way they can improve in a decade, I thought. I was also told na ito may pinakamaraming returns (no big surprise there. haaha!)

Condura/Carrier, ok sana kasi local brand but heck bad experience (madali mabulok condenser nito). Pangit din fit and finish. Tapos nung canvass time, super mahal. 20K++ for a 1.5hp.

so it went down between York (EER 10.XX) and LG (EER 11.3).

So yun na, ok na ako sa York kasi made in Philippines, I wanna help my fellow countrymen by buying a locally assembled product. I'd have to wait for three days for the York. yung LG, pwede ko na agad bilhin sa mall. Went to the mall and bought the LG (15k lang) and brought it home. Next morning, installed na agad (me, dad and our workers).

I bought LG for the ff reasons:

    1. Anti-corrosion treated ang condenser and evaporator. Yung York sa harap lang. Babad sa tubig ang condenser so bulok ito after sometime pag walang anti-rust.

Worst yung Carrier/Condura, paint lang. Pag hinawi mo yung fins, kita mo na bare. It's like a bad joke.

    2. Cheap for a branded WACU. got it for 15k (from the 17k SRP) lang after some arm-twisting.

    3. Nano gold filter (anti-bacteria/germs filter)

    4. 5 years warranty sa Compressor, Evaporator, Condenser, Tubing, adjoining parts. Kaya nung nag-offer ng 2yr Warranty extension yung automatic centre for around 3k, natawa ako because it's obviously not needed.

    5. I've had good experience with LG products from IT to appliances.

    6. I had positive vibe with it (very important). I also used this to judge a unit when i bought a laptop a few days ago (K42JR ATI 5470). I didn't feel good about the first unit. This model is highly sought for, for its ATI 5470 1GB discrete videocard so me asking another unit was ridiculous to say the least. Sabi ko, pag last unit na ito, it means the Supreme Being wants me to get a Six-core desktop (AMD X6). Kaso meron stock. Super fresh and I felt positive about it. Handed over the cash and went home. hehe

    Cons:

Its temp goes down to 16 degrees. You have to measure your room first. Dapat ata 1hp lang kinuha ko, but I'd rather have excess than lacking kasi. For now, I just keep it at 20-22, lower than that, namamanhid na ang fingers ko sa paa at kamay.

Sounds like a WACU (you can hear the compressor no matter how silent it is, and yung wind turbulence). Initially gusto ko talaga split kaso I've read unconfirmed statements na mahal daw cleaning nun because I'd have to charge freon every time. Since I'm crazy about cleanliness esp in my house, I've let go of split muna since I didn't have the time to verify.

pero if silence is your no.1 priority, split is unbeatable.

Best window type Aircon - Carrier?
