November 28th, 2008 04:37 AM #13masyadong eratic power sa inyo or there's another short circuit in the washing machine. try to have your line's checked and may be an installation of a circuit breaker for your washing machine is another possible option.
pagkakasi malakas ang higop ng current at hindi kaya ng linya, nagiinit ito and if fused ito, pedeng yun fuse ang bibigay agad.

November 28th, 2008 10:47 AM #14after the power surge, the problem now is with the washing machine itself. not with the wiring of the house. the rest of the appliances are now working fine so that confirms that there is no problem with house wiring.
now, what I am trying to figure out is how to isolate the problem in the machine itself. from what i've read in the net, there is probably a short circuit in the wiring of the washing machine. i'll try to check later tonight. good thing i bought a multi tester a couple of months ago. will use it for the first time.

Don't get a fuse with a higher current rating. Use the prescribed fuse spec only (5A, as you stated earlier). There is something wrong with your washing machine that is causing the fuse to blow. It could be the motor. Have a qualified technician check it out.

Choice I would have made as well.
