    Can you post your windows event(system and application) log? We'll try to find the problem there. BTW, have you tried spybot or adaware on your system?

    Spybot is very good... although it lacks an active and preventive program like an antivirus.

    The registered version of Ad-Aware had a TSR (Ad Watch) which prevents changes on the computer's registry and internet explorer settings, handy and even useful in preventing some viruses.
