MCP doesn't have the Soundstorm APU... i'd rather use that than buying an Audigy 2 with sucky driver support for 7,500 bux hehe
tough call itong vid card pre, on one hand, it seems to make better sense to get a cheaper holdover card like a GF4 Ti4800 at the moment, then get a Radeon 9800 Pro in about eight months when it will drop to half its current price.
the Radeon 9600 Pro only manages 40 fps in Doom 3 beta, at 1024x768, medium quality, no AA/AF. so while it's a true DX9 part, it doesn't seem to have the horsepower to run DX9 games optimally... hmm... btw, ATI will be releasing a Radeon 9600 Pro XT soon.
pero tempting iyang 9800 non-Pro... hmm... hmm... saan ka nakabili ng 9800 non-pro? wala siya sa mga price lists a (aside from that ad in tipidpc)
etong current shopping list ko ngayon:
AMD AthlonXP 2600+ (Barton, 333 FSB) : 5,850
MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR (nForce2 u400 / MCP-T) : 6,850
2x TwinMOS 256MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM : 4,600
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128 MB DDR : 9,860
Seagate Barracuda 80GB 7200 rpm SATA : 5,800
Viewsonic P90F 19" CRT monitor : 14,300 (wretched excess hehe)
integrated nForce 2 Soundstorm audio : 0
AMD AthlonXP 2200+ (Thoroughbred, 266 FSB) : 4,000
ECS K7S5A (SiS735) : 0 (current motherboard)
Inno3D GeForce4 MX440SE 128MB DDR : 2,900
512 MB TwinMOS PC3200 DDR SDRAM : 4,600
Creative SB Live! X-Gamer : 0

i got it from PCOptions in gilmore. I got the Sapphire brand. this is essentially the ati brand na rin coz sapphire makes the ati boards. Curiously, windows XP recognizes my card as a 9800Pro.
The main advantage of the 9800series over the 9600 series is that it has 8 pixel rendering pipes, vs 4 for the 9600 series. trust me dude, the premium on the 9800 is well spent.
Nice specs!!! But 19" Monitor? Luho na talaga yan IMO. You can get a 2nd hand monitor way way cheaper, if it's ok with you. Ako kasi, i'd rather get a Lian-Li casing (PC60) and retain my 17" monitor. Teeny weeny na masyado yung screen at very high resolutions.
BTW, para saan yung 2nd set of specs?

para sa computer ni broder... hehe
luho nga hehehe... para big screen pag nanonood ng movies, at para swabe ang gaming in 1600x1200 hahahaalthough the bigger screen would be easier on the eyes din, and would help immensely with photoshop work
imagine... binili ko yung Viewsonic PT775 17" ko for 22,000 back in 1999 hehe
btw, i've heard of nForce2 mobos being picky with RAM sticks... ano gamit mong RAM sa nF2 mo? meron bang Corsair sticks binebenta locally? yun daw yung best bet for nForce2 e

I think halos sabay lang tayo ng upgrade cycle. Last major upgrade ko was in 2000.
regarding your Q... Oh yes my friend! Everything can be locally bought here now! Event the exotic Zalman heatsinks and Water Coolers! Yung Corsairs meron dito... DDR 433 pa nga! But as you know, very very pricey. Ano max resolution ng 17" Viewsonic mo? AKIN NA LANG!!!GAWD! 22k for a monitor!!! well, if you really want the 19", go all out na and get the 9800!!!
I use 2 512MB Twinmos PC3200 sticks for a grand total of 1GB RAM (para ma-enable ang dual channels). No windows page files for me hehehePero ayaw ng Photoshop 7 ng ganitong setup. Gusto niya may page files pa rin.
Note: Bartons run hot dude! Good cooling is a must. I'll take pics of my rig when i get the panels back from extreme mods. For sure it'll be nice, kaya lang still in beige. Im thinking of getting those fans with LED so i can see the components in the dark. what do you think? cheesy ba?

okay na rin yung Twinmos RAM sticks sa nforce2 no? nagka problems ka ba with your RAM and mobo combination?
mahilig ako sa ultra high-end monitors e hehehe, don't wanna scrimp on this one componentyung PT775, max resolution is 1600x1200 * 77 Hz; yung P90f, max resolution is 1920x1440 * 73 Hz (WOW!!!)

If you want it, go for it! As i always say
ey, if you wanna part with your old viewsonic, gimme a holler ok? Max res ko kasi is just 1280x1024. Pretty fine but i want the extra flexibility.I think im going for the lighted fans. makes a flashlight unnecessary, di ba? Ang ricey talaga yung may flourescent pa sa loob. :D Have you seen the pc with the aquarium panel? now that's ricey!
*krscla, i keep windows update off. baka madiskubre ni fafa Bill na Pirated ang windows ko, i-nuke pa pc ko hehe

mukhang ok rin yung Gigabyte 7NNXP a... nF2 u400 + MCP-T, as feature-filled as the MSI, plus it has an additional riser card that carries additional electrical thingamajigs for maximum stability... tom's hardware highly recommends it...
