November 14th, 2009 01:17 PM #123Didn't notice that on my fatlaptop. Maybe 'coz it doesn't support aero
. Now I "upgraded" my 7100 RC to retail on the desktop I'm currently using. I'm currently trying to figure out how to make the loaders work. So far, only the anti-virus and Daemon Tools seem to be the only problems beside the loaders.

it uses some resources usualy games only use...
*roberto: your loaders must be complicated. the one I used recently is just one click and done. though I like the other loader. I can choose my manufacturer logo and all... though I can use both. hehe...

I recall having some problems installing older games in Windows 7 64-bit. C&C: Generals was one that had a hard time installing. But eventually it did install. Zero Hour kept getting CRC errors even after I copied the cd files to the hard drive and tried to install from there.
Well, there had been a lot of updates (via Windows Update) since. I tried installing Zero Hour again and wouldn't you know, it installed fine. I was also getting the same errors with the demo downloads of ArmA 2 and NFS: Shift before. So I deleted them. Now I wish I didn't.Sigh.
I'd guess one of those updates helped.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; November 15th, 2009 at 09:34 AM.

The following games wouldn't install properly before. But they installed fine this time and now run ok:
IL-2: Forgotten Battles
Far Cry
Rome: Total War
I guess that was what the last round of fixes was for.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; November 15th, 2009 at 08:24 PM.

Where can I buy Windows 7 Professional Retail? OEM won't cut it bec. you'd have to choose bet. getting 64 or 32 bit, while retail gives you both in one package.
