Therapeutic indeed. Nothing quells the need for speed like... well... speed.

And the Jazz is an excellent car to do it in. I remember when the GD first came out, we did a trackday at BRC. During the break periods, the instructors were borrowing the car to go out on track... in the rain. They all came back with goofy grins. Only mods were a midpipe, muffler and some Advan Neovas. And after a zillion laps, plus doing 160 km/h on the way there and 140 km/h on the way back and driving through the heavy traffic in Taft to pick his kid up, his 1.5 still got 14 km/l.

Heck... the guy who brought it only brought it because his RS was in the shop... and after that... he sold the RS and stuck with the Jazz.

    Lucky bastard.

Yep, I think I'll skip that though. I think I'll attend the Hongly one on January 17. Still not sure about the venue but it'll probably be at SIR again

BRC is more organic than SIR... lots of banking on the curves, lots of chicanes, hairpins and twists. It tends to flatter streetcars compared to Subic, whose flat turns expose softness and twitchiness in the suspension... although lifting off in the (I hope I got this right) Casino corner, a steep downhill left hander, will get you well and truly sideways.

Clark is much like BRC, but it's unfinished. Lots of fun. On the short track that's open now, there's only one or two really heavy braking areas that will stress your brakes, and lots of constant radius corners to scrub your tires raw.

Of the three tracks, I think Clark might just be the most fun, when it's done... but as it is, the facilities aren't quite as good as Subic.

Guys shaved my time even further. Scored a 58.4-second lap yesterday.

The trouble is I cannot seem to replicate this any more. I think I began over-analyzing my driving, and thus lost speed to understeer on Turns 1 and 2 - my times afterward got worse and worse.

Might need to rethink how I apply the throttle, methinks.

Stock GD1 Jazz shaves 5.2 seconds off Subic laptime.
