What an exciting race... though it did get kinda boring at the end, after everyone exciting had crashed out.

Best drives of the day, definitely:

    4. Fernando Alonso: Overtook when he needed to. Drove as fast as the car would allow to get third.
    3. Sebastian vettel: Drove a solid race. Lucked into the win, but drove fast, hard and precise.
    2. Paul DiResta: Stayed out of trouble, had a ton of pace, almost had a podium.
    1. Felipe Massa: Incredible run up to 8th from nowhere. If anybody doubted his heart, that awesome pass on Senna should be a convincing argument that Felipe still wants that Ferrari seat.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Sayang kumatok din car ni Maldo, otherwise wala din sanang points si Alonso.

Give Massa a good car and he will perform well, that is if they want the Spaniard to throw his temper tantrum again.

Massa will never be a big threat to Alonso. Alonso's extreme qualifying pace always means that he will have more opportunities for points than Massa.

F1 considers 2013 ‘shark fin’ for driver identification

Sep.23 (GMM/Inautonews.com) F1 cars could be fitted with a mandatory engine cover ‘shark fin’ next year.
The move would be designed to help television viewers and trackside spectators easier identify the drivers, in the era of deep cockpits and ever-changing helmet designs.

Mercedes tested the ‘shark fin’ solution at the recent Magny Cours test.

On the German squad’s test car, the shark fin featured the drivers’ race number, his national flag and his three-letter F1 initial.
“The teams have been working for some time on how to improve the identification of the drivers on the track,” team boss Ross Brawn told Auto Motor und Sport.

I was hoping for some fireworks and bad decisions from Maldonado, who drove a surprisingly sane race.

Thailand set to join calendar from 2014

    27 September 2012

Thailand is on target to join the Formula 1 calendar from the 2014 season onwards, officials in the country have stated. The Bangkok Post reports that the Governor of Thailand's Sports Authority, Kanokphand Chulakasem, met with Bernie Ecclestone during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend and agreed a deal in principal.

Although circuit details and annual hosting fees are yet to be confirmed, the event is set to be hosted on the streets of Bangkok and become the sport's second night race.

"It will be a city race like that in Singapore and Monaco," Chulakasem is quoted as saying by the daily newspaper. "It will be a night race like the Singapore Grand Prix."

Red Bull has previously backed plans for a race in Thailand, with its foundations stemming from the country. Mark Webber completed a demonstration run in the capital city of Bangkok back in 2010, which can be viewed at GPUpdateTV.

Imminent announcement....I guess Lolo Schumi should finally enjoy a more permanent retirement...Lewis and Nico were good mates in their early years anyway.

    RUMORS
Lewis Hamilton to Mercedes: an announcement on Friday?
    Story by: Eric Gilbert

Rumors have been swirling around the Formula One paddock for quite some time, but now it seems that what could be 'the move' of the year, if not the decade, is going to be announced on Friday: McLaren long-time super star would move to Mercedes. The deal would be a three-year one and would reportedly be worth $100 million (yes, one hundred).

Hamilton would replace seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher whose comeback never really gave the expected results, despite some interesting performances. The German über champion would either retire for good in his Swiss castle, or else remain with Mercedes in a consultant or ambassadorial role. Another theory is that he might go to McLaren to take Hamilton's seat, which would be an even more extraordinary twist of event.

Other replacement drivers for Hamilton at McLaren are new Formula whiz kid Sergio Perez, as well as long-time Mercedes boys-on-standby Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg.

Stay tuned as Motorsport.com will closely follow this story in the next couple of hours.
