November 2nd, 2011 08:36 PM #91They were outnumbered, remember? And it's Russia that primarily pushed back the Wehrmacht with their vast army and rocket launchers. Kaya nga sobrang inis ng mga kano ng naunang pumasok sa Berlin mga Soviets.
Japan attacked more than 5 countries and humiliated a world power, Great Britain. That's what makes them Greater. Besides, the Jews were attacked by Muslim savages. Which aren't really humans so it's no contest.

The Soviets were able to move their industrial warmachine out of reach of the Nazis in Siberia, the US industries were isolated in another continent. Can't say about the Nazis, which were bombed to smithereens. The Soviet and American weaponry were technically inferior but they had the numbers and they had no problems with fuel.

RE: Israel
Hah. Those "subhuman" Muslims pushed out a well-equipped and well-funded Russian army in Afghanistan with nothing but AK47s and tons of surplus anti-tank and aint-aircraft missiles. All provided by the same people who provided Israel with their hardware... the United States.
RE: World War II
The Germans were defeated by sheer logistics... but also, they couldn't outdevelop the US, the UK and Russia at the same time. The US was providing tech support to the Russians, as well. By the end of the war, German fighters like the Me109 and Focke Wulfe Fw190 (greatest. aircraft. name. ever ) were being outshone by newer Allied aircraft and their tanks were soon swamped by the superior numbers of Russian T-Tanks. They had some tech marvels like the Me262 and 163, but too little, too late.
I'd say the loss of the war was more a reflection of the utter idiocy of German high command and the loss of good soldiers due to attrition. There's also the lack of petrol from their inability to secure oil fields in Africa and Russia, the whole Russian Winter thing (did you think the Russians won the Eastern front with a handful of competent snipers and a bazillion irregulars who lacked even basic gun training? Hell no) and the technical innovation in radar that helped win the Battle of Britain.

If Germany and Japan had won, there'd be no Israel. The Jews would all be dead. We'd be second class citizens (essentially slaves) working for the Japanese, forced to swallow the worthless "Mickey Mouse" money they made us use during the occupation. There'd still be a very strong Muslim insurgency... but this time, funded by the United States instead of Russia (then China, then Malaysian rogue elements...). In fact, I'd expect the Muslim insurgency to be more of a pain in the ass for the German and Japanese occupation forces here in Southeast Asia and in the Middle East than the small scale guerilla action against the Germans in Europe was.
Germany and Japan would be waging a war on the Russian front, for the rights to own the Soviet Union and its vast oil fields, with the US too far away and with no land bases to mount a good counter-attack against both.
Science would come to a standstill. Any science not related to the military, and all medical science (since this could disprove the "Racial Superiority" theory that spurred both Germany and Japan into action) would be banned. Books on history would be burned. You'd see a "cleansing" worldwide ten times worse than what happened in Russia and China. Here, in just a few years, tens of thousands disappeared into Japanese interrogation rooms, never to reappear. My great-grandfather (the first fingerprint expert in the Philippines, an NBI official) was lost that way. Give it a few decades, and scientists, thinkers, writers, poets... all would be made to "disappear".
You think the Spanish did a good job of erasing our past? the Japanese would have made it complete. National treasures from Madrid to Mumbai would disappear into German and Japanese vaults. Would the world economy collapse? Possibly so. But the empires that don't care for the health and well-being of their "subhuman" subjects would be rich, rich, rich.
Eventually, as long as Germany and Japan don't assimilate local populations properly and there's enough dissent, the empires would fall. But it would set civilization back decades. And the world would be a much poorer place.

November 3rd, 2011 10:22 AM #96The Soviets pushed (pulled) themselves out of Afghanistan. It's the idiot yanks who couldn't take a hint.
Kung nakinig lang sana si Hitler sa mga Generals niya, like approving more u-boats instead of ships i.e. floating coffins, panalo sana sila.

You can't deny that they're fierce fighters. The religion promotes paradise for fallen warriors... much as with the Vikings.
What has held back Arabic and non-Arabig Islamic armies is poor leadership and tactics... but in terms of guerilla warfare, where much rests on the fighter himself, their willingness to kill and die is nearly unmatched. And the terrain where they are based (heavy jungle here, mountainous drylands there, lend themselves well to guerilla fighting.
The question is... india? Would it put up a good fight?
