April 10th, 2010 12:17 AM #171y do u people praise Gordon for what he has done in Subic like it's the most disciplined place in the entire Phils?
if we will review history, Gordon single-handedly convinced pinoys to become smugglers by way of duty free shops. yes, yan yun. to the so many people, who visited subic in the 90's. a percentage of this now are living with us, trying to test the loopholes of the custom, duties and tax system
He indirectly influenced us na puwede naman pala hindi magbayad ng tax eh. and he's the best example for that kasi napalago daw nya subic bec. of that.
masyado sya nagpapapapogi, and he's ignoring the monster that he has created ... oo nga ang strikto ng mga pulis sa stop sign, pero tignan mo naman ang pinatay nila all over the country sa pagpapayag papasukin ang converted RHD vehicles.
kaya wala ako bilib dyan sorry.Last edited by Gen. Miting; April 10th, 2010 at 12:20 AM.

as I understand and to make it summary
Duty Free Shop + Indirect Tax + Kamay na bakal implementing Law (cops as sample mentioned) + Inviting Traders / importers(RHD vehicles) = MAUNLAD NA SUBIC
its like comparing to DUBAI
Duty free + Free Tax + kamay na bakal + traders = RICH DUBAI
let us see current situation ng pinas
EVAT + kamay na ewan + Traders = POOR PHILIPPINES

April 10th, 2010 01:19 PM #177Kaya hindi madevelop ang automotive industry natin to cater to most Filipinos and to make car ownership affordable to simple employees, its because of this practice, junk vehicles being converted and sold again here in our country. Kaya lalo tayong nagiging kawawa, imagine these right hand drive vehicles from Japan were considered environmental hazard and the shippers are being paid to ship it out of Japan. Now, it is being sold here in the Philippines for 200k- 800k. It's a pity.

Sir, mas mura ba talaga ang mga bilihin sa duty free sa Subic?
Wala bang limit ang purchases? May BIR at BOC people manning the whole free port? Sa Subic lang ba pwede magpasok ng sasakyan?
I dont think BIR and BOC is under SBMA.
Smuggling will only be easy if this two bureaus are not strict and represented at all exits of the free port.
Just my view. Peace!

April 10th, 2010 06:09 PM #180No need to warn me. I am at peace with my choice so no need to be agitated.
As for me, each of us have been brought up differently as persons, as citizens of this country. My choice might not be their choice. I have made my choice according to my knowledge and analysis of different scenarios here and abroad, of different cultures actually. Kelangan kase ng Pilipinas ng kamay na bakal paminsan. To others na iba yung choice, maybe they think na tama yung choice nila, I have no issues with them. Iba iba kase tayo ng basehan, iba iba ang reference and eventually, preference.
Anyway, bata pa ang Philippines in terms of maturity into democracy (100 years or so palang? bata pa). Maybe in years or decades time, people will be coherent na in thinking, due to exposure to different scenarios sa politics.
Basta mga guys, we should support whoever wins the elections in May except of course if that candidate won through an illegal way (nandaya).
VOX POPULI, VOX DEI!
It depends on the way you drive. But I've never had to change brake pads at 20k kms. I also have...
