you keep saying the brain cannot be explained. it's coz you lack information. the information is out there. but coz you're not interested to learn how the brain evolved you never bothered to look for the information. so you keep coming back to that "one cannot even explain the complexities of the brain" argument. even if i post links that explain how the brain evolved you probably wont bother to read them anyway. so i won't bother posting links

How could one argue that natural selection has out of billions of years of "evolution", natural selection "created" a being that can feel, has logic, can decide what is morally and ethically upright? That it can "invent" or "create" such a thing as purpose, or based on this topic, a God, a religion, a faith even? Can natural selection explain that?
    YES

Or is it just one of those aberrations that will eventually peter out because it is not essential to human existence? Clearly, faith has been with us since the beginning of time, and it is chronicled through historical writings and even the Bible.
if something isnt advantageous for survival it will eventually be eliminated

the fact that there are secular societies around the world -- societies that were previously religious -- means those societies do not find religion essential for survival

    ---

    evolution doesnt stop

    ---

consider the great amount of scientific information out there right now

    information that's easily accessible

and more information coming in fast

a hundred years from now will people of the earth be more religious or less religious?

I'm sure he's aware that the information is out there. But people like him are afraid to make any attempts at understanding that information. That's because every bit of new knowledge that explains the unexplained slowly but surely diminishes the divine.

Err what historical writings are you referring to...Aesop's fables? Greek, Norse, Hindi, or Sumerian mythology? Since the bible rate equally with those.

they're afraid of ideas that can weaken the foundation of their faith

    --

and organised religion is afraid of ideas that can cause followers to leave

    --

organisms adapt to their environment and pass on their genes

organisms that fail to adapt die before they have offspring so their genes aren't passed on

millions and millions of years of this process lead to a huge variety of organisms each perfectly suited to their environment

people who do not understand evolution go "wow! how wonderful! all organisms are perfectly suited to their environment! it must be intelligent design!"

they fail to consider organisms that have failed to adapt. they only see the result of nature's elimination process and go WOW! How wonderful! they don't consider the process. they don't get the process

well, to them there is no evolutionary process

to them all organisms were "created" as they are

organisms didnt evolve. organisms just appeared. SUDDENLY

    Man appeared suddenly

    dogs and cats appeared suddenly

    magic!

    yeah makes sense

    to a five year old

Im 1000% sure that it will be gone. If you look at churches on sunday pa konti ng pa konti ang mga tao, unlike in the 90's hangang labas ang tao sa simbahan.

I don't see any crosses, "god", "bible", etc. or even Adam's name in cave drawings?

Some pictures are in this wikipedia page.

That's because popular malls have started to celebrate the Eucharist on Sundays. So instead of wasting time travelling from church to the mall, the shopaholic sheep can celebrate the Eucharist inside the mall, then immediately go shopping or malling .

    hehe

    the battle within

the force of worldliness/materialism/consumerism pulling people in one direction

and the force of conscience (resulting from indoctrination) pulling people in the opposite direction (hey, magsimba ka! it's Sunday! huwag unahin ang mall)

    the solution: magsimba sa mall

"hey nagsimba naman ako sa mall eh!"

    conscience is silenced

    hehehe

You can see the trend in other countries like the UK. Some smaller churches have actually been "decommissioned" from being a "church" and even have been converted to other purposes, including as a private house and as a restaurant.
