September 16th, 2011 05:34 PM #342The Christian faith does not deny the value of science. In fact, it also allows science to corroborate the existence of a God. So I don't know why you're trying to pit science and faith against each other. What is bothersome about this illustration is that the illustration conditions the reader into thinking that all science contradicts faith, which is completely false.

fossil evidence all over the place
fossil evidence not enough for you?
how about DNA?
Neanderthal DNA sequenced
A team of scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, recovered small amounts of DNA from a male Neanderthal skeleton, and using a novel method of sequencing have sequenced around 1 million base pairs of its genome.Early analysis has so far shown that the Neanderthal Y chromosome is quite different to ours, suggesting that there wasn't much breeding between H. sapiens and H. neaderthalensis. It is estimated that H. neaderthalensis last shared a common ancestor with us around 315,000 years ago.

September 16th, 2011 05:39 PM #344Economically? Militarily? What is the measure? Maybe yes to both, but they're sure fast into a decline. All I'm saying is that they can lose it all just like Rome if they continue to go the same route they're going, and they don't change. The tell tale signs of a degenerative society already point it in that direction.

September 16th, 2011 05:53 PM #346Take love. Its hard to measure it. But we know that when a person spends more time with someone, serves him or her, is affectionate towards the other, we know that there is the presence of love. We can see it, but we can't measure it. The empirical evidence is there but how do we quantify that?
feelings are chemicals in our bodies
love? oxytocin
Oxytocin ( /ˌɒksɨˈtoʊsɪn/) is a mammalian hormone that acts primarily as a neuromodulator in the brain. Oxytocin has the distinction of being the very first polypeptide hormone to be sequenced and synthesized biochemically, by Vincent du Vigneaud et al. in 1953.[1]
Oxytocin is best known for its roles in female reproduction. It is released in large amounts 1) after distension of the cervix and uterus during labor, and 2) after stimulation of the nipples, facilitating birth and breastfeeding. Recent studies have begun to investigate oxytocin's role in various behaviors, including orgasm, social recognition, pair bonding, anxiety, and maternal behaviors.[2] For this reason, it is sometimes referred to as the "love hormone".[3]

September 16th, 2011 06:01 PM #347Now is it random or design? Sometimes it is, sometimes its not. Some "fall" (random) in love. Some are more choosy. Some like them boobsy, some like them leggy, some like them fat. No one in his random mind would choose a labrador, a chicken, or a snake to fall in love with and procreate, right? Now that, is design.
there probably were species who mated with other species but they're no longer around today coz they didnt produce any offspring

September 16th, 2011 06:36 PM #350I believe that man was created by God.
We need to understand that the written accounts in Genesis summarize it in prose (ordinary form) to illustrate what happened chronologically. The "days" as in the first day, or second day, etc., is not to say that God created the heavens and the earth in 24-hour periods, it is just there to illustrate that in the beginning he first created the heavens and the earth, until he created man on the "6th day." It is more for us to understand the logic of how He created the world. The timeline could have been a thousand, or a billion years, but nonetheless, I am convinced that He created all things.
