Good example is China. It might appear to be a rich country pero sobrang daming namamatay sa gutom sa countrysides. That's the reason bakit sobrang mura ng labor doon because companies will just hire the next person desperate to have money to feed his/her family.

Ukraine - feedbacks from my aunt: country is very poor, people don't know agriculture mga foreigners ang nagpapatakbo ng agricultural lands nila, maraming nagugutom. hindi na sya communist pero since galing sila sa soviet union eh meron pa rin remnants ng communism.

Russia - country is rich hindi na nga communist pero it's still a police state. Di ka basta basta makakagalaw doon. And gusto mo bang dadamputin ka na lang ng basta basta maski mabait kang tao? Ever heard of the word trip, kursunada? Well uso dito iyon (referring to Russia) and ang gumagawa nun ay mga police.

North Korea

Iraq

African countries.

Latin American countries.

Cherish ninyo ang freedom, maraming tao nakalagay lang sa papeles na free sila pero in reality they're not (classic example is Zimbabwe. Even a billionaire there will be having a hard time buying a loaf of bread, nakalagay sa government Democratic kuno but Mugabe's been reigning that country for 3 decades already.)

So sa mga nagbabakal na kamay diyan be careful what you wish for, I suggest you travel extensively or you can read kung walang travel or ask somebody who has extensive experience in travelling to different places (different places na hindi lang magagandang lugar kundi panget as well).

Every country has its own share of poverty. At least China's economy has improved a lot.

And the Philippines? People enjoy the most freedom but the country is going nowhere. Add to the fact that we also have a lot of poor kababayan.

We don't need to emulate China. Just look at Singapore. Singapore is not a communist society. People there enjoy less freedom than most of us. But they also enjoy more income.
