I'll betcha if you joined, they would've found a niche for you where heights aren't a concern.
Fear of heights is nothing. You think that's strange? I knew someone who constantly washed his hands and took Polaroids of every dump he took. That's not the scary part. What's scary is he was my supervisor.

Stressful? Ohhh yes. It's very stressful to the core and you carry the weight of some very heavy responsibilities.
But if you can make it as one, you'll be in demand especially if you're multi-lingual (again, something related to call centers).
Plus, the pay abroad is very good. Graduates often have good prospects. Here in the US, I think starting pay for someone with little or no experience is something like $50k a year and could reach as high as $145k a year in the highest grades. Average pay for an ATC with several years of experience is around $90k a year. Chances are you'll also work for the FAA (read: the Feds). That means between the generous benefits, job security, retirement, other perks which go with being "in the system" and the actual salary, you're set. All you have to do is earn the pay.
I seriously thought about being an ATC when I was younger.... But, I heeded other callings.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; November 28th, 2009 at 11:55 AM.

November 28th, 2009 10:35 PM #28Yup, I heard from a friend working in that industry that we are in dire need of ATC's as our airports are too understaffed/overworked (== recipe for disaster).
Unfortunately, there aren't enough qualified people and for those who pass, most decide to work overseas after just a few years of experience. They even prefer to work in those poor African countries because pay is much better than staying here.
Eh ngayon BBM has just ordered the suspension of the fining of ebikes and calls for a grace period...
