the elite will always be in power
what did people expect? a government for the people, by the people?
keep dreaming
the starring cast changes every few years but the powers behind the scences are always the same people
...or the same families.
yes, the same families
the Philippines is ruled by oligarchs

October 9th, 2012 05:06 PM #39wow ... F Sionil also wrote about it
Be the revolutionary your father wanted to be and don’t be scared or wary of the word “revolution.” It need not be always bloody. EDSA I was not. Your father wanted to destroy the most formidable obstacle to our progress — the Oligarchy to which you and your family belong. To succeed, you have to betray your class. If you cannot smash the oligarchy, at least strive to have their wealth develop this country, that they bring back the billions they stashed abroad. You cannot do this in six years, but you can begin.

Much of the corruption is done at the lower level of govt
a lot of corruption happens at the highest levels of govt involving mind-boggling amounts of money
the wealthiest in the private sector all have friends in the highest levels govt
they help each other
the Tarlac Mafia rules
hehe
as if this is a start... start to what?
start of realization that nobody can go against the Yellow Army?
they've proven to be very powerful
they jailed an ex-president. now they impeached an SC justice
impressive
now everyone will bow down to them
they're untouchable
the Tarlac Mafia/Yellow Army/Makati Business Club hacienderos rule the country
sa tingin niyo this will benefit the masses?
haha
the masses will remain poor
the powers-that-be will always look after their own interests first
