By the way, the one who made the selfless sacrifice that led to the turnaround was Sonia Gandhi, a political widow like Cory Aquino. The big difference was that Cory, was naive enough to think she can rule the country despite her woeful lack of experience. Nadala siguro ng mga tsuwariwaps na politicos tulad ng mga nasa oposisyon ngayon.

Sayang talaga yung goodwill ng unang EDSA. Ang yaman na sana ng Pilipinas ngayon.

Question: What was Sonia's nationality. Like where did she grow up as well? Sometimes does it take an outsider to see things from a different perspective? From a more global one and rather than a myopic local one? Notice how Pinoys outside tend to be more disciplined in normal things like traffic compared to here in the islands? Is there a reason why?

Sonia Gandhi was born and raised in Italy but moved to India when she married. I guess her nationality (citizenship?) must be Indian, but might have been merely acquired or naturalized. And yes, it's sad that those of us inside can't seem to appreciate what we really have if we keep on looking outside for better things.

So do we need a Fil-Am to rescure us from our parochial thinking? I hope not.

We can if we get rid of Gloria. But the Philippines unlike India. We are not in leash. We're in iron chains. So we need iron will.

Is the Philippines capable of this?
