Agree. We are probably being slow cooked as we speak. The biggest piece of bullcrap I see right now is our own AFP making statements to the effect that having Tsayna cell towers inside our camps is ok.

This may be because of too much corruption just to fast track the building of cellular towers. It's definitely faster to construct towers in government owned properties, than to negotiate with private properties individually that can number to thousands. This may not necessarily mean China deliberately wanted to put those towers inside military bases, it might be the idea of one of our bright and corrupt official.

you're a telecom company investing millions per cellsite

putting one inside a military facility makes business sense

    it's protection of investment

Always a probability bro. I just wonder if this generation of officials have any semblance of nationalism left. Parang puro pagpapayaman na lang inaatupag.

Millions of dollars is chump change for the ruling party. Don't forget about their national security law. Having those sites in our bases practically guarantees there will be spying. The future economic and strategic benefits of having those far outweigh the cost.

what's the difference between a cellsite standing inside a military base to one standing outside?

    it's radio frequency waves

if you wanted to use it to spy it makes no difference

All our communications equipment are manufactured and sourced from other countries, what is the guarantee that those other supplier countries don't spy on us?

Most of us in this forum have facebook accounts, our goventment officials have social media accounts. How are we sure that we are not being spied on with all our social media posts?

Why single out China? Was it because Trump said so?

have we heard of the term, "tempting fate" ?
or, "why make it easier for them?"
or, "why invite the fox inside the barn?"

we don't know what's inside the backpack.
it could be a radio, or it could be a kilo of tocino.

i think, that is the point.
we have no idea of just what that thingee is capable of doing.
that is why we do not want it anywhere near our property.

    ang dami daming puedeng paglagyan.
why allow it inside the compound?
