Bad sign how many families have been finacially hit and can no longer afford it...
Enrollment in private schools '''alarmingly low''' – group
As of July 24, a total of 1,259,076 private school students have signed up for the school opening on August 24 – just 25% of last year's 4.4 million students, according to the Department of Education (DepEd).
In a survey conducted by Cocopea in April, more than 500 of its 2,500 member schools participated. At the time, according to Estrada, around 400 or 80% of the respondent schools said they might close down during the pandemic.
Estrada said the number one reason for the low enrollment is the financial constraints of families, whose livelihood have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
"Marami ang nawalan ng trabaho. Maraming nawalan ng negosyo. I think marami rin siyempre ang gumastos diyan about their health. So talagang affected sila," Estrada said.Last edited by Monseratto; July 25th, 2020 at 06:48 PM.

Some just chose to enroll their children in public schools since classes will be done online and there’s almost no additional benefit in enrolling in private schools. Also, tuition fees in a lot of private schools ay mahal pa din kahit online classes na. Imagine their savings in electricity without the students going to the schools.

Add BONDS to your roster of online investments
Retail Treasury Bonds (RTBs) are medium to long-term investments issued by the Philippine government. During its most recent auction, the Bureau of Treasury (BTr) issued its 24th tranche of retail treasury bonds (RTB24), the Progreso Bonds para sa Bayan.
RTB24 will have a tenor of years (5) and a coupon rate of 2.625%, paid quarterly. Offer period is from 16 July to 7 August 2020, or earlier.
Why invest in RTBs?
AFFORDABLE: you only need P5,000 to start
RISK-FREE: government securities are fully guaranteed by the Republic of the Philippines
TRADEABLE: buy and sell the RTB24 in the secondary market
HIGHER INTEREST: get a higher interest rate vs other deposits
SUPPORT THE PHILIPPINES: proceeds will help support the government's efforts in recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic
