Uncertainty still for US investors. China is our only hope. The best country in the whole universe!

PEZA manager for promotion and public relations Elmer San Pascual earlier said a number of foreign companies have shelved new investments and expansion plans due to uncertainties brought about by TRAIN 1, and is being created now by TRAIN 2.

Meanwhile, investment pledges from China to the country’s economic zones saw a dramatic 228 percent increase to P239.63 million in the first quarter from P40 million in the same period last year.

The prices of real estate (well mostly condos) are skyrocketing partly because of them. They are buying units here and there even if it's ridiculously expensive and location isn't that prime. As there's demand, developers are increasing their prices accordingly Philippine Economy Talk

I wonder how many of the pledges actually translate to real investment.

A couple years ago I was wondering where SM would get its buyers for all their condos in the bay area. They have so many units already but apparently those aren't enough. Looks like a lot more are in the pipeline for that 600 Ha "Future" project.

Ano kayang issue nila sa TRAIN?
We invited an attorney who works with a senator. He clearly explained that TRAIN just simplified the very complicated dinasaur-era tax system of our country.

And the recent credit rating of the Philippines (not bad, not good but could have been bad) is partly due to TRAIN.

The change of the PEZA tax incentive from ITH or 5% GIT to 15 CIT is a big threat to foreign investors who are currently locators in different PEZA economic zones.

Which senator does the lawyer work for?

What's the latest news on this? Have not seen any articles about it in recent weeks.

A conclusive statement confirming that the incentives will not be removed will improve investor confidence.
