May 5th, 2010 02:23 PM #44mabuti kung ganun..... i have read somewhere na ang specs daw ng isang PCOS machine is similar to a Pentium 3 system.
Yun cost daw ng isang PCOS is about 84 thousand, yun software is 24 thousand per unit, and another 24 thousand for the UPS. I have not yet verified the info though.....

Manual voting with automated counting. Thus it is doomed to fail.
Hindi na henyo or people who can predict futures ang needed. Common sense na lang.
Esep Esep..... you manually write on a sheet of paper a document and then make a computer read it. Di ba dami mo variables and causes of error na ginawa. Ngayon errors ng PCOS machine e sa pagbabasa ng manually shaded voting forms.
Di ba we directly enter data to a computer nowadays. And identification can be done by biometrics, facial scanning and even by individual secret codes (aka passwords or passkeys). Plus each voter entry may be printed and kept in the old style voters box for later verification.
Who ever designed this automation system for an election did everyone a disservice.

I wont mind waiting behind a long line as long as the true will of the electorate would reflect the results.

Bakit kasi ngayon lang sila nagco-conduct ng PCOS testing? Dapat noon pa, or months before the May 10 elections. We spent a lot of money on these machines that are not working....Pwe!

We have definitely been robbed here. I don't really get COMELEC why they chose such an expensive option.
The counting could have just been done at the municipal level instead at the precinct level saving us from buying all 76,000 PCOS machines. Also addressing errors would have been much easier.
I think all of the commissioners should resign right after this elections. This incompetence is unforgivable.

the automated elections will fail
comelec people are not competent enough to pull off such a big, complex operation
no experience yet on anything like this
not on this scale, not even on a smaller scale
there are too many things that can go wrong
technical, infrastructure, logistics, personnel, other factors
first automated elections nationwide agad
good luck
