May 3rd, 2010 07:46 PM #121Kaya nga may mga house bills and resolutions na nafile as a result of the investigations. Noynoy is not promising complete eradication of corruption. He is promising to curtail corruption at the very office of the president as a starting point. You are correct that it is the responsibility of each one of us to curtail or curb corruption but the most effective would be the one who wields the power. Kung matino ang namamalakad, magiging matino ang sumusunod. Itanong mo na lang kung kasing rampant ang corruption nung panahon ni Marcos at Cory, compared mo kay Gloria. The latter, because of her extreme intelligence and being a genius, has made a science out of corruption. To me, Noynoy is the best alternative. Malinis at mapagkumbaba!

May 5th, 2010 01:58 PM #122True, it may be the most effective if the one wielding power will start to curb corruption but mere good intentions are not enough. One must have the political will, dedication and capability to do it. Noynoy may intend to curb corruption but I don't think he has the capability and the will to do it. He's a lame duck and his "friends" will take advantage of his incompetence once he gets into office.

So who do you propose? Villar? This guy will seed corruption from himself and his wife. ERAP? Too many cronies and barkadas... GIBO? Uncle Danding and the GMA people will be pretty much be the beneficiary...
And don't mention Gordon, Villanueva, Perlas, Madrigal and De Los Reyes because those guys won't win!
