agree also on this. they should have left it as it is. sa canada pag holiday falls on saturday or sunday din na nila mino move.

although disadvantageous sa mga employers yan, i guess they considered this as well when drafting the law. they might have done some consultations.

afaik, the actual date of celebration is still the same (independece day=june 12, etc.). they just changed the date where there will be no classes. tama ba? ndi naman nila kaang palitan yung date kung kelan napatay si ninoy di ba?

anyway, mas ok na yung malinaw yung rule pag dating sa non-working holidays kesa naman sa nanghuhula tayo lagi.

Okay ito. Good for business in general.
Holiday economics ang tawag dito and
it has worked kaya they're institutionalizing
    it.
Sa 3-day weekend, very good chance na mamasyal
ka and spend something at least on one day of the
three. Spending & buying is good for the economy.

The "moveable days" are Bataan Day (April 9), Labor Day (1 May), Independence Day (June 12), National Heroes Day (August 31), Bonifacio Day (November 30) and Rizal Day (December 30).

Thus, if Independence Day, June 12, falls on a weekend, it will be celebrated on the following Monday. The same principle applies if June 12 falls on any day except Monday.

Exempted from holiday economics -- that is, holidays that will be observed on the date on which they fall -- are Christmas Day (December 25), New Year's Eve (December 31), New Year's Day (January 1), Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Eid'l Fitre (October 13) and All Saints Day (November 1).

President Arroyo, who coined the term holiday economics, introduced the policy in 2001 to reduce disruption to business and production schedules, encourage domestic tourism and give employees long weekends.

at last a break from work.

some would be really happy to have a vacation but others would really get frustrated.

IMO, for as long as the holidays (and no-work days) are well-defined for the whole year, then there should be no problem for the businesses to implement them. What we're looking here is predictability and consistency.
