    ito sabi ng Malacang...

"Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said this was due to the request of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), citing the “24/7" nature of the two sectors."

It should be for everyone. It feels bad to be discriminated in your own country.

Declare kasi ng holiday, Friday afternoon na... Bigla-bigla....

so true! this country is insane!

Not all BPOs are call centers. I heard about some mfg companies na may BPO rin. Malabo yang announcement nila! Pano kaya yung nagwo work sa call center? Ite text or tatawagan isa isa ng HR???

Declaration of National Holidays in honor of someone should be an act of Congress, not a presidential prerogative.

But in the Philippines today, it may not make a difference.

GMA and her family have a lot of disposable cash to spend....

Dapat national holiday ang September 7 and 21...pero kahapon, September 5, Saturday and shortly two days from September 7, nagkaroon ng pahabol ang Malacañang. The electronic business sector and BPO industries are exempted from the holidays, meaning may work sila. So be it! Pero there are issues to be clarified here:
    1. Exempted
Does this mean na regular working day lang for them or holiday pa rin but they just have to work and in effect may double pay.
Baket? Dahil ba BPO sila it makes them less as a Filipino that they get to be deprived of taking part or observing the NATIONAL holidays? Isn't that ironic?
OO nga, kasi BPOs nad electronic sectors and most if not all of their clients ay foreign, does this make them loose their right to the national holidays? This is understandable kasi lahat na nga nag-ko-cost cutting na di ba? Di naman magic wand ang binigay sa kanila when they were elected to office eh. DISGUSTING!!!

    2. By virtue of what ACT ba kasi? Sorry ha di ko kasi nakuha kung anong presidential act this was.
Section 26 of the Philippine Administrative Code says, unless otherwise modified by law, regular and special holidays MUST be observed by this country kasi. Meron ba?
