Manila, Philippines --- Tied after the canvassing of all votes cast, two contenders for mayor of San Teodoro, Oriental Mindoro, agreed to settle the issue by Coin Toss
After the coin toss, the local Board of Canvassers of the Commission on Election (Comelec) declared mayoral bet Marvic Feraren winner, according to a report of ABS-CBN News.
The report said that after the canvassing, Feraren, son of the incumbent mayor, and mayoral candidate Salvador Py each got 3,236 votes.
Reny Pagilagan, the acting election officer, said both Feraren and Py agreed on a coin toss to break the tie.
"In order to break the tie, napagkasunduan na 5 times ihahagis ang coin, pinakamaraming times na heads 'yung panalo," Pagilagan told ABS-CBN News.
This is not the first case when a tie is settled by coin toss.
On May 27, 2007, the last seat for the municipal council of Bontoc, Mountain Province, was settled by coin toss.
Two candidates, Byran Byrd Bellang and Benjamin Ngeteg, were tied for the eighth and last seat.
Bellang, who chose the heads, was declared winner after the coin toss.
In 2010 in Siargao Island in Dapa, Surigao del Norte, newcomer Godofredo Sajol won over incumbent Barangay 8 Chairman Apple Tiu following a coin toss.
In Quezon City, the post of chairman in Barangay Mariblo was also settled by coin toss.

Anong magagawa nila eh sa tabla inabot yung boto nila di ba?
