then draw a parallel to what's going on in Marawi and Mindanao as a whole

i don't have data but it seems the birth rate of Filipno-Muslims is higher than Filipino-Catholics

that means Mindanao's war index is quite high

which explains why the govt cannot defeat the Muslim insurgency
bakit uls kasi pwede sila dami asawa. that's one interesting thing about their culture, i can only wonder having 2-3 wives. parang ok din in a sensw no, non being stuck with the same old, same old.

saw on TV news several times Marawi evacuees with 9, 10 children

small sample could represent Muslim Mindanao as a whole

after reading that war index article got me thinking about how high Mindanao's war index is

large number of males born into poverty/lack of opportunity + large number of loose firearms + indoctrination into extremist ideology

there you have a neverending supply of fighters

so even if the govt does kill every maute-isis fighter in Marawi, the war doesn't end there

Martial law till end of December?

wanna bet it never gets lifted?

Did anybody actually think Marawi is an isolated case?

    Those extremists are everywhere

    meron o wala martial law

the govt won't be able to solve the Muslim extremist problem without addressing the source --> poverty

Poverty is always present in any society. It is corruption that is making it worse.

    there's poverty and corruption everywhere

high birth rate + poverty + indoctrination into extremist ideology + access to weapons = ever-growing supply of fighters

di kaya si mother nature ang nag-dedecide ko ano dapat mangyari, kasi tignan mo Mindanao puro poverty, so what Mother Nature does is to ensure that gun smuggling can get away there, para yun magpaptayan na lang sila kasi walang silibi eh

we are all each given a challenge to change from where we began, kung pinanganak ka na mahirap magsikap no matter what the odds. helping other does not exclude ypu when you are poor..so dont take it against to others kung malas ka. pero kungb puro poverty lagi reklamo kasi poverty then mother nature might as well hand you the rifle or pistol na papatay sa yo coz wala eh ayaw mo ichange status quo mo.

ang mga pinanganak na mayaman din naman pinapatay ni mother nature eh in the form of boredom, depression and disease. eh kung mayaman ka na gusto mayaman na lang for life and wouldnt lift a finger, might as well mother nature hand you over mga diseases that will kill you coz wala ka din silbe

i think that is the better explanation why things are happening to good and bad people. mother nature wants you to experience both the light and dark, the darker force mas ok coz when you beat it then you are a survivor. diba

so i dont buy those poverty and corruption blaming, buhay ka naman eh, healthy ka na man, start changing changing the status quo. kung ayaw eh di fate will take care of it for you

i think maybe that's the only way to live eh. kasi kahit naman sobrang bait at wala ka inaargabyado na tao, nakakatatok ka pa din, so make it a lifestyle that there will be always challenges

Also those who feel left out of society. The Maute brothers weren't poor, they were rich enough to be sent to be brainwashed by Saudi Wahhabism...

Martial Law in Mindanao
