^ Those Maute thugs should stick out like a sore thumb then.

Shouldn't the AFP/PNP/DSWD be monitoring where there evacuees are?

^marawi is a predominantly islamic city, there are plenty of islamic sympathizers there thats why maute and isis had their way there

All the government need to do is concentrate on protecting the hydro-electric power plants. Those precious infrastructure need not fall in isis hands

Dont niggle too much about maute sympathizers roaming around iligan, the catholic residents of iligan wont tolerate their way in their locality. But we need to take care of the evacuees even if they are muslims or sympathetic to mautes cause because they are filipino subjects.

scorched earth ang style ng ISIS, there's nothing to govern. they are the clean-up crew. if you ask me, darating ang panahon they will all be eliminated to pave way to another Persian empire. yun lang yun.

sa Syria which is mostly a Christian stronghold, the ISIS message got across.

pero sa case natin, ang sinakop nila sarile pala nila and yet masyado sila nagyabang sa media and our government, what they did was pahirapan sarili nila mga tao with that stunt. what gives?

This one.. I agree sayo bro.

^^^ speaking of muslim dominated cities/societies, i've been wondering why isis hasn't made a big play in the scale of the marawi siege at our neighboring islamic countries like indonesia and malaysia

granted malaysia is cash rich and its citizens are fairly liberal and contented so there's not much grumblings (except for the corruption scandals of their leaders w/c erupt from time-to-time , their undying "christian problem" & their bigot tainted bumiputra policy), so i'm guessing radicals and their extremist ideologies won't gain much traction there.

but indonesia is not much better off compared to us. poverty is rampant at their fringes, relative to pinas, they have a larger expanse of hinterlands and shorelines w/c are harder to monitor and police, and yet, there haven't been any takeovers or attempts to really establish a so-called caliphate over there. yes, there have been bombings in jakarta and the like but that's nothing compared to what's happening in marawi city

i imagine indonesians, being generally devout muslims, would be more open to establishing a so-called caliphate over there, but as of yet that hasn't happened

so maybe, there is a real profound hatred simmering among our disenfranchised muslim brothers. probably it's an off shoot of the infamous massacre they experienced during the marcosian martial law, or the gov't sponsored displacement of their ancestors eons ago by christian settlers, or maybe even it's the plain bitterness they feel after being continuously regarded and seen as lowly and vile by christians and whomever. these fanatics may be few and far between but they've been really wreaking havoc in the southernmost part of the country for quite some time now

pasensya na sa long post ko. i currently have a lot of time in my hands this morning

well that was my point all along when i said Muslims in the Phils. have been mistreated or prejudged or discriminated against by the Catholic majority for decades (specially the mainly Catholic central gov't in Manila)

but i was ganged-up on by people who either misinterpreted what i said (how do you misinterpret "mistreated"?)

or they just simply hate me and would automatically take the other side of the argument regardless of what i post

let us review the movie, it's a multi-verse, the more na pinapatay ni Jet Li yun mga kamukha sa ibang multi-verse lumalakas sya. so fast forward to the ending, san napunta yun villain na Jet Li, sa isang pyramid where they are battling for the top, tapos labanan sila patayan karatehan etc. to the top.

simply, it's just our own game of capture the flag or agawin base. so maybe Isis is capture the flag and put your own flag. ganun lang ka-simple ang nangyayari. maybe they view the western world or our world na ang dami-dami pa pakeme, may media, may globalization, may democracy, may capitalism, may equality pero capture the flag lang naman talaga ang purpose natin, we want to dominate other worlds too, hindi nga lang tayo violente nag-aamerikana tayo tapos nag-me-meeting etc. etcc sa ISis siguro and some other Muslim fundamentalists, eh bakit kelangan dumaan pa dun, kung capture the flag capture the flag na lang, so labanan na lang.

so for those who think that there will be peace in the world, or local peace in Mindanao, malabo yan coz it's inherent in all of us to capture or conquer something whether it's an idea or career or a community or what more a race or a country. innate sa atin yan and if it makes us going then the more we feel good about ourselves. the likes of Genghis Khan, Atilla the Hun, Ragna of Vikings lol

eh kayo tignan nyo buhay ngaun, is it fulfilling with all these cars and traffic and work na walang saysay, tapos mag-aanak ka papaaralin mo i-nurture only to become you, pursuing the same empty goals of self-security and preservation. aka pursuing the comfort zone.
