Separatist group pa lang yan. Paano na ang mga extremist, ideology yan.
MNLF were separatists who signed peace agreement and were given ARMM. ARMM was supposed to be a transitional arrangement and was just one of many agreements most of which remain unfulfilled. If you study ARMM law and practice further, it doesn't even give them real autonomy. Budget is still decided by Malacanang every year, for example.

Misuari's and his people's incompetence and corruption didn't help their cause. But incompetence and corruption aren't exclusive to one ethno group or religion, right?

MILF agreed to drop secession and go for real autonomy, but the BBL is still in limbo.

No, BBL won't give Mindanao peace. But its a giant leap to that aspiration. The continuation of historic injustice for the Moros of the South will tempt the young to go extreme.

BBL will at the very least give peace a chance

Might be useful to check with your local social action center of your parish, for Catholics

Cash is best. You might want to consider this ARMM agency involved in emergency response and providing relief. Current leadership are people of integrity. It's also wise to ask all those asking for donations to report back their accomplishments, preferably with data

Will MILF drop secession? That is the question. Never happened with MNLF so the answer in NO.
