Aguirre's suspicions, also, came after the Department of Trade and Industry vouched for Aquino's activities in Marawi in May. The DTI's statement was in response to rumors that were beginning to spread in mid-May.

"It is unfortunate that (Aquino's) visit is now the subject of false news and reports," Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said then. Lopez is Aguirre's colleague in Duterte's Cabinet.

He said the fire bureau was prohibited from inspecting the casino establishments within the economic zone.

The claim was dismissed by PEZA Director-General Charito Plaza, who cited the law establishing the agency and authorizing it to regulate occupancy, fire and safety permits.

"We have civil, safety, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers who [inspect] during the construction of industries’ buildings and facilities and [conduct] twice a year," Plaza told BusinessWorld.

i don't think aguirre is a "pulpul." in grade school, he was a valedictorian. in high school, he was a consistent honor student. in college, he was a magna cum laude. in law school, he was a valedictorian. he got 85 percent in the bar.

bato maybe a loose talk but i don't think he's "pulpul" either. apart from the fact that he graduated from the PMA, the guy has master's degree, a doctorate degree, been to FBI academy and to army ranger school in the US.

despite of his humble beginnings, he is able to reach his full potential.

his father was a trycyle driver. bato used to be a bus conductor and fish market porter.

But I don't really mean they are pulpol in the literal sense of the word.

The way they comport themselves in public is what I am mostly referring to.

They may be academically above the crop, but their words and behavior speak volume of how they take the public for fools, not realizing it is they who end up looking foolish.

Especially the SOJ, never mind the PNP chief.

All these very tall tales and fishy narratives from the SOJ hint at either a very gullible mind -- to have believed it in the first place from whoever fed it to him -- or a TUTA (sipsip) mentality --fabricate and/or say anything to defend and/or please the boss.

Anything to further whatever (evil) cause they have cooking.

Either way, it does not look good.

pulpul is obtuse or intellectually challenged. they aren't, apparently.

from your explanation, you might be referring to the word "tuso." or cunning. but whether or not, they are, that's expected.
