getting back to Saudi Arabia's forex reserves

it has risen from the low and stabilized

that means they're no longer dipping into their savings (even rebuilding some savings)

which means $80 oil is ok for them

they're not making a lot of money

na-b-budget nila ang oil income nila ngayon

maybe they cut costs elsewhere but the bottom line is $80 oil is ok

now near $80 many economies are hurting

    obviously PH is hurting

i'm telling you -- you do not want to see $100 oil

    gulo yan dito sa Pinas
We've been there before... (remember the days of the LPG taxis?)

    Only difference now... new TAX

    oil doesn't go up... yes

but transport will (due to the demand)

    More oil moving around.

Since last year, everything is stagnant

so what's your point ba talaga?

    are you making a prediction?

dunno what point you're driving at

it sounds more like you're just citing factors that will give you hope that oil price will go up

    citing breakeven price, winter, etc

    nasa oil industry ka ba?

kaya gusto mo tumaas ang presyo ng langis?

    i don't operate on HOPE

    i look at data

and what is see is more risk to downside than upside

there was no widespread anger over rising food prices dati

now food prices are rising almost everyday according to DZMM reporters reporting from wet markets

transportation cost is a major contributor

if oil reaches $100, we could see breakdown of law and order

looking for LPG conversion kits won't be on our list of priorities when we see soldiers and APCs on the streets

^it must go up. That's my point.

Mababa ang Peso plus the new tax, plus the Euro-4 requirement.

If international prices does not go up - tuloy ang ligaya

marunong ka naman po mag sabi ng "supply and demand" kanina diba?

well, there's a demand side and i'm telling you it's fragile right now

the data i'm seeing indicates the global economy is slowing down

except for the US, everyone else is slowing down

    China, Europe, emerging market economies

kung tumaas pa ang presyo ng langis... $90... $100

it will send the global economy into tailspin

and the resulting demand destruction will send oil prices falling

kung matalino ang Saudi Arabia, they will try to keep oil prices in check

like i said $80 is good

wait ano kinalaman ng mahinang peso sa $100 oil na gusto mo?

first, the weak peso makes imported oil more expensive

how does that affect international oil prices?

PH is a small buyer our demand does not affect international oil prices

    di naman tayo China
