you're right bro. Art. VIII in relation to Rule 65 of the Rules of Court.
RULE 65
Certiorari, Prohibition and Mandamus
Section 1. Petition for certiorari. — When any tribunal, board or officer exercising judicial or quasi-judicial functions has acted without or in excess its or his jurisdiction, or with grave abuse of discretion amounting to lack or excess of jurisdiction, and there is no appeal, or any plain, speedy, and adequate remedy in the ordinary course of law, a person aggrieved thereby may file a verified petition in the proper court, alleging the facts with certainty and praying that judgment be rendered annulling or modifying the proceedings of such tribunal, board or officer, and granting such incidental reliefs as law and justice may require.
Even if the Impeachment Court would render a judgement of conviction against the Chief Justice, the latter could file a petition for review under rule 65 of the rules of Court in relation to Article VIII of the 1987 Phil. Constitution, and the SC has the power to review the proceedings/decisions of the Impeachment Court when there is a grave of discretion amounting to lack or excess of jurisdiction on the part of the latter.

Hindi maganda ginagawa nitong si Brenda.
Kahit siguro may pagkukulang itong prosecution, her behavior towards Tupas is uncalled for & unparliamentary. Ni-lectureran pa siya in public & this is grandstanding at its worst.
She'd be a national embarrassment, kung ganyan din siya sa International Court of Justice.Last edited by chua_riwap; February 14th, 2012 at 06:09 AM.

Brenda likes to brag and show to everyone that she's intellectually superior to anybody..
She's always been like that ever since.
It will be interesting to see if she will still carry that attitude into the International court.
I can almost imagine her berating prosecutors in the int'l courts... hehe

She will be a national embarrassment pag naka upo na sa ICJ.
Escudero dahil Enrille is accusing the prosecution na wala naman daw silang evidence.
Very disturbing yung mga pinakita nya kahapon.

Nakakatawa yang argument na yan dahil the court will only subpoena the details of bank account numbers. Enrile will not allow a subpoena stating all bank accounts of CJ.
Now granting the prosecution don't have those documents but knows the bank account numbers of CJ, sasabihin nanaman ng korte.
And he's implying that evidence via mode of discovery is not allowed. Ika ng mga dean ng college of Law ng UP at UST eh di nila maintindihan ang complain ni enrile.
Bugok ang mga prosecutor and so is the court.
