February 10th, 2012 09:26 PM #1382Anyone else getting sick of all the statements coming from Malacañang and PNOY? I've no sympathy of any sort for Corona, and believe that he has gravely abused his position and needs to be removed, but the Palace needs to just shut up and let the Senate, the prosecution and the defense do their jobs. The constant statements and accusations, while a trial is already ongoing, show an obsession that is drawing attention and energy away from other concerns, such as the natural disaster in the Visayas region.

llamas to the rescue.

The Daily Tribune - Without Fear or Favor
Llamas to ‘neutralize’ anti-CJ impeach protests
Amid street protests by multi-sectoral groups supporting impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona, Malacañang is reportedly bent on pulling off a larger rally that will involve more than what was seen last Thursday.
A highly placed Malacañang source yesterday said President Aquino’s controversial shooting buddy, presidential political adviser Ronald Llamas, has drawn two plans that will render the pro-Corona protest as “nothing compared to what he has prepared.”
The source added the first half of the plan is already in progress, apparently referring to the “Tipo kong Chief Justice” campaign that was jointly launched and currently being worked out in the grassroots level by the cause-oriented groups, city mayors, church organizations, legal practitioners, non-government organizations, academic scholars and the labor sector.
Llamas was said to have been behind the mobilization of the cause-oriented groups, the academic community and the labor sector.
The “Tipo kong Chief Justice” movement, supporting the removal of Corona, has been going to various forum soliciting public opinion as to the qualities that should be considered for the incoming chief magistrate notwithstanding an impeachment trial in progress.
According to the movement, it wants to set the standards of qualifications befitting a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court if only to ensure that the high tribunal would be able to gain the trust and confidence of the Filipino people.
The movement is also firing up the power of social networking media such as Facebook, Twitter and blogs, apart from the signature campaign conducted in campus tours.
Predominantly mobilizing the drive are former activists whom Llamas had worked with.
The other half of the plan will test Llamas’ mobilization skills anew by getting a bigger crowd to participate in anti-Corona rallies — much bigger than the one last Thursday.
Hours before the high tribunal conducted the special en banc hearing on the chief magistrate’s suit questioning the impeachment trial Thursday, multi-sectoral groups supporting the chief magistrate started to mass up at the Supreme Court.
Protesters outside the SC gates brought placards with messages such as “Uphold judicial independence; Drilon resign; stop the impeachment trial.”
Earlier in the day, groups allied with President Aquino — the “Black and White Movement” and Akbayan — rallied near the Film Center to press Corona’s conviction by the Senate impeachment tribunal.
