Mahirap maghusga agad. There is a possibility that he also have a family business, and kung may pagkakamali man sya in his SALN, it might be his omission to state his full business interest. Let's wait for the defense turn.

I have a friend na RTC Judge in his 60's, he is not merely a judge but a businessman, sabi nya ng pabiro, pag namatay sya, yong mamanahin ng 2 anak nya is at least tig-20 million.

Dito lang ata sa tsikot mas marami ang anti corona. take a look at the comments in yahoo news about corona's impeachment. Parang mas marami ata ang pro corona, tapos almost all justices, judges and court employees support him. Plus the IBP, Ateneo Law School and Iglesia ni Cristo. Kaya kung sakaling kumandidato sya sa pagka-senador next year, siguradong panalo yan.

Sa decision nila i take the position na yes, sila ang supreme - d pwede ireview ng Supreme Court. di rin provided ng constitution na pwede ireview ng SC ang decision ng Impeachment court.

But as to how they arrive to a decision, i believe they still have to abide by the law at all times. Where the law does not provide exemptions, you can not make one for yourself. While it is also the constitution that provides for the bill of rights and holds due process to be of utmost importance, just because the respondent hasn't waived his rights, it doesnt mean na impeachment court can do everything that violates the rights and protection of the constitution and relevant laws afforded to the respondent.

Andysn na tayo na nakikita natin na may limitations ang batas. Solution then is to have the law amended (attention congress who prioritize non legislative functions ) or have the supreme court declare the covering provisions or the whole law as unconstitutional. May proseso pa rin.
In Philippine History, I think that we do not yet have an Impeachable officer who was found guilty by the impeachment court, hence, we do not have a jurisprudence where the Supreme Court review the decision of the former. However, I do believe that the Supreme Court can review the decision of the Impeachment Court based on Rule 65 of the Rules of Court in relation to Article VIII of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, because the impeachment Court is a quasi-judicial tribunal.

Section 1, Rule 65: Petition for certiorari. — When any tribunal, board or officer exercising judicial or quasi-judicial functions has acted without or in excess its or his jurisdiction, or with grave abuse of discretion amounting to lack or excess of jurisdiction, and there is no appeal, or any plain, speedy, and adequate remedy in the ordinary course of law, a person aggrieved thereby may file a verified petition in the proper court, alleging the facts with certainty and praying that judgment be rendered annulling or modifying the proceedings of such tribunal, board or officer, and granting such incidental reliefs as law and justice may require.

Well kahit mapa tunayan pa ng defense na legit ang source ng 31M bank deposit ni Corona which I doubt, he's still liable for not declaring it on his ITR and SALN.

Palusot ni Esguerra... Pera ba talaga ni CJ yan?

Dapat mag pakita ng ngipin ang senate next week in light of the development in the SC.

Impeachment against CJ Corona..
