Things are just so screwed up.

I pity the schoolteachers who are supposed to educate and help solve the problem of the utter stupidty afflicting a lot of us Pinoys, work long hours in bad conditions, do election duty, etc... and yet the half-witted congressman (who wouldn't even dare educate their offspring in our public system) can get away with highway robbery.

Who has the power to improve the salary ranges? Congress? The executive branch? If it was congress, obviously they don't really care as they are getting their fill from other means and allowances.

Even if a higher salary will not prevent corruption, at least then you can get a higher class of businessperson in certain appointed posts if you're willing to pay them more money.

As they always say: You get what you pay for.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I have to agre on this one. Proven in our education system even in local scenario.

Here, public school teachers are paid more than privately-owned Basic educ schools. Recent science quiz bees and competition shows public schools performing better than private ones. A stark contrast to 10-15 years ago where the salary was almost reversed.

However, politics is really different. Plus a P125M salary a year can't still get you elected here. AFAIK a president needs billions of pesos as war chest during the election to have a chance to win. Papano nga naman babawiin yun.

I was talking about local scenario - as in here in my place in the province schools - and not in MM where it's different.

    Hope that clarifies it.
