GMA has long been supporting the change to Parliamentary system even before the presidential elections, so cutting her term by 2007 is no big deal to her. She might even get re-elected "yet again" kung totoong marami pa ring sumosuporta sa kanya.

Ang tanong: Who will be the Prime Minister?

    Boy Ferrari...

Based on the reports... the Executive office will still hold court until 2010. Only the Legislative branch will be affected by this on 2007... namely the abolition of the upper House or to put it lightly, the consolidation of Congress into a single House.

From this, you can deduce what their proposed "new" form of government will be... a President & Congress / Parliament will still be elected by the people... but a Prime Minisiter will be appointed / nominated by the Parliament. This will resemble closely Germany's form of government. The President will then be less powerful and be closely relegated to ceremonial functions "only". The President might still veto laws, represent the country abroad, be the commander-in-chief, etc. but the day-to-day running of the country will fall to laps of the Prime Minister.

Though I have a strong feeling that JDV will be gunning for the PM position. He has enough political clout to gain a majority of Congress' vote. FVR can also make a comeback through this.

let's welcome change ... lagi naman sigaw ng lahat palpak sistema ng Pilipinas. eto may bago proposal sistema, either will work or not work ... but still there's hope.

for those who will argue na eh d ganon nanaman, sila sila din mga pulitiko/congressman uupo dyan. hayaan na lang muna natin for the 1st few years.

simple lang naman dapat ang role ng gobyerno, to service the people. let's start from the basic. eliminate all redundant agencies, na kunwari pang counter-check ng ibang agency. pampalito lang and lalo pa magastos.

6 mayors arguing in conference table with MMDA are better than having 13. saka dapat talaga wag-13, malas eh!
