it was very vague, did his brother really died bec they were poor or he died bec of incurable disease that even if they have money he won't survive still?

Villar was practically bankrupt during the Asian Crisis in the late '90s, the reason why he backstabbed ERAP when he elevated the impeachment complaint to the Senate. he had a deal with GMA during that time. and as what they the rest is history.

so the gossip that he is the secret bet of GMA is true they did it before why can't they do it now?

the best picture of Villar. medyo malabo..

this is what it says in the picture, I am a good businessman, but when elected, I promise not to recover my campaign expenses... so true!!!!

Note Villar now has "blessings" from religious leaders, such as Bro. Mike "Villar"de
it's not that he wants more money (but of course he still does)

Villar is beyond that

money is no longer the ultimate goal of Villar

it's power

this is now beyond accumulating more wealth

it's now about power and prestige

to Villar, money is just a tool

something he uses to attain his presidential ambition

he is buying his way to the most powerful position in the country

to be president, to be part of RP history

to be a world leader

he's a taipan

only more ambitious

kung ambition lang yan, walang problema...nothing wrong and evil on that...

pero pera yan...

kahit marami na sya nun, from a net worth of 75M in 1992, to 482M in 2002, to 1.08B in 2007, Villar is obviously after money...hindi lang ambition yan...maybe ambition to be part of the world's richest person alive...yung power is a tool for more money...

Man is Evil and a Liar

it's natural that his net worth would grow through the years

his assets are mostly real estate

last time i checked, real estate prices here have been going up year after year

so whether he likes it or not, tataas talaga net worth niya

you have to think like a billionaire senator

he already has wealth and power

what else is there for him to dream?

what mountains are left for him to climb?

what else? the presidency

that's his goal

and to attain his goal, MONEY IS NO OBJECT

that's what his money is for

he's using his money to buy his way to the presidency

conventional thinking is that he is spending all that money to become president, then he will earn back that money plus returns++ when he's president

doesnt compute

as a businessman, he could easily invest that money and earn returns WITHOUT going thru the hassle of mounting a presidential campaign

it's like trying to go to the other side of a mountain by going around it instead of using the tunnel that goes thru it

the reason Villar is spending all that money to become president is coz he wants to become president

that's it

his wealth will grow regardless if he becomes president or not

Farmers accuse Villar of land fraud

By Nancy C. Carvajal
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 07:52:00 02/19/2010

MANILA, Philippines—A group of farmers has accused Nacionalista Party presidential candidate Sen. Manny Villar and his wife of fraud in the acquisition of a P1.5-billion loan from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in 1998.

In a press conference Thursday, the farmers said their land was used by Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar to secure a loan for Optimum Development Bank (formerly Capitol Bank), which was owned by the couple, from the BSP.

“We are the rightful owners of the land used by Optimum Bank to pay its debts to the BSP using dubious documents,” said Gina Jarvinia, one of the 28 landowners who attended the conference.

Jarvinia showed reporters documents to show they were the rightful owners of at least 715 hectares located in Barangay San Isidro, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, foreclosed by the BSP after Optimum Bank failed to repay the loan.

Nieves Tecson, spokesperson of the group, said the farmers decided to speak up now “because Villar is running for president.”

“This is our only chance to be heard. It must be now because we are scared nothing will happen with our fight if he becomes president,” Tecson said.

She said they started their fight against Villar in 2008 when they filed a complaint against him with the Ombudsman.

“It has been more than two years, nothing has come out of it,” she said.

In a statement, Villar lawyer Nalen Rosero Galang said: “This revived issue is another clear indication of the obsession of Senator Villar’s opponents to link him to an anomaly, any anomaly.

“We reiterate that Capitol Bank’s transactions with BSP were all aboveboard and legal. The properties transferred to BSP were all covered by titles existing on file with the Registry of Deeds,” he said.

there's a lot more stuff if you dig deeper

Villar’s real estate companies benefitted greatly from the govt

Govt home financing companies (PAGIBIG, NHMFC) preferred to finance Camella, Palmera home buyers

Villar had a bank -- Capitol Bank -- which got loans and other financial assistance from the BSP

Villar's Manuela Corp got huge loans from the SSS and GSIS
