yes, i noticed that
pinoys work harder abroad
gustong gusto pa nga mag overtime
di kasi nila kasama ang pamilya sa abroad, so there's nothing much to look forward to after work, so might as well work more hours, dagdag kita pa
yung iba may second job pa
and when your co-workers are hardworking and very professional, mahahawa ka...
mas productive ang pinoy sa abroad
sayang no?
yung productivity nila napupunta sa host country, di sa Pinas
yes our country gets remittances
but the value of their contribution to the GDP of host countries is much greater than the amount of money they send to the PhilippinesLast edited by uls; January 3rd, 2010 at 12:30 PM.

Masakit man tanggapin, but I think Filipinos cannot be given freedom. Kelangan meron nagma-'manage' palagi sa kanila kung ano ang dapat gawin.
Democratic system is a failure in this country. We were given the freedom to vote for our leaders, kung sino-sino naman ang binoboto, basta sikat, yun ang pipiliin; freedom of assembly, lahat nalang ng ginagawa ng government, kinokontra, rally dito, rally doon, welga dito, welga doon; freedom of expression, ano ba masasabi nyo sa media natin, it has become too powerful na kinakatakutan na sila kahit ng ordinary people, like pwede nilang gawan ka ng bogus story if hindi ka magbigay ng pera sa kanila.

Actually...
We know our problem
We also know the solution (in fact we think of zillions of ideas to solve it)
Then we absolutely do NOTHING about it.
and then we whine why.
That's Pinoys

There's nothing wrong with being family centric. My officemates in the bayarea and Canada are family oriented. US and Canada are far more well off than the Philippines. American companies (well make that the one that I'm working for right now - a Fortune 100) is family oriented so for me there's nothing wrong for being family oriented. Ang puti pag may saket may saket. Hindi yan papasok. Pag may kailangan sa pamilya nila hindi rin papasok. So walang kinalaman ang pagiging makapamilya.

people had to work hard and make sacrifices to create with a well-managed country like Canada
if people in the Canadian govt had the same work ethic and lack of vision as govt people here, Canada would be a third world country
---
you don't become fortune 100 company without some very hard working people sacrificing family time to build the company
that fortune 100 company may be "family-oriented", but some people had to work overtime to turn it into a fortune 100 company in the first place
surely, even up to now, there must people in that company working overtime while other employees are calling in sick or enjoying family time
--
you need a foundation first
like somebody had to build the country first
they call 'em founding fathers
like a hardworking grandfather or father who had to build the family fortune first
then the lazy grandchildren or children can enjoy a life of leisure
if the grandfather or father bummed around...
if the forefathers bummed around...
there will be no USA
you can't compare the US to the Phils.
pinoys went to the US when US is already well established
pinoys werent there when the real hard work was being done
now you see some bums in the US and say "hey, tamad din pala tao dito, pwede pala yumaman ang bansa kahit tamad ang tao"
very goodLast edited by uls; January 19th, 2010 at 10:48 AM.
