in fairness to dick gordon, he matches his mouthful of words and the machinegun like manner w/ which he delivers them with solid and concrete actions.

asar na asar ako dyan nung dinedefend nya yung stay ng U.S. Bases. But when he eventually lost and the U.S. bases got kicked out, he did what he could to maintain the good image of subic and he really attended to the needs of his constituents as mayor. in short, he's not just a talker but also a doer. medyo kulang lang sa mass appeal like erap. if he runs, depending on his advocacies, he might be worth considering..who knows. tatlong taon pa naman yan. as for CHIZ, eh CHIZmis pa lang naman na tatakbo... tama, pahinog muna sya... prove his mettle muna not just as a lawmaker, but as an action man. that's what our country needs, a doer with lots of political will and guts ;)

The Senate has and always be known as the launch pad or stepping stone to the Philippine presidency. The Senate gives you immediate national prominence as a politician and statesman and it also is the testing ground for proposed policies to be adopted by the government.

That being said, I don't think any of the local executives will ever win a presidential election. Why? By default, your exposure to national issues is limited and your popularity with your constituents does not necessarily translate to wide popularity or even votes throughout the country. Shining example? Mayor Fred Lim (who lost in his presidential bid in 1994).

Between Gordon and Chiz, I go for Gordon. He has proven to do good as an executive given his record of Subic. Chiz? Did he ever held a position as an executive? Mayor? Governor? If ever he did, it means he did nothing or else we would have known it like Mayor Robredo of Naga City.
