But unlike the Coast Guard, Ramos would not say that the incident was wholly accidental.

“We hope that’s the case,” he said. “But if it was accidental, they should have rescued the eight [fishermen]. Why did they abandon them?”

Ramos said there was no low-pressure area over the West Philippine Sea on the day of the incident, though the southwest monsoon caused big waves in the area.

With reports from Jerry E. Esplanada, Christine O. Avendaño and Dona Z. Pazzibugan; Vincent Cabreza, Inquirer Northern Luzon; and AFP

Accdg. to my gf’s bro there seems to be a growing resentment towards chinese be it FIL-Chi or FOB Chi, problem is people grouped them together. He got into an argument with a cyclist at a ped crossing and the cyclist blurted out “Ang yayabang nyong mga intsik!”.

It was a shipping vessel. Mas malaki sa fishing vessel ngayon na nakadali sa pinoy boat.

Most probably hindi nakita yang filipino fishing boat. Eh hindi nga binalikan diretso lang biyahe. Hindi gaya ng incident ngayon na andun talaga namamalagi ang chinese vessel at alam niyang nabangga niya kasi nga binalikan pa sila bago iniwan.

Spin pa more. Magkaiba ang sinadya sa accident.

DU30 and his cabinet are now calling it as a minor maritime incident, not worth going to war for. The government is showering the fishermen with complete fishing kits and boats. According to the cook that right after the collision, the other fishermen transferred to three smaller bancas from the sinking "mother" boat and gave chase the Chinese ship.

Taken in isolation, they can say it is a minor maritime incident. However, when you factor in:

    a. PH is a claimant of the Spratlys
    b. China claims all of the SCS/WPS
    c. The Chinese have resorted to denying access to the WPS by crowding it with their militia boats

Then the ramming incident becomes more serious because China isn't even talking about how they would prevent such "accidents" from occurring again. They'll just resort to claiming its another "accident".

Thank goodness the Vietnamese were there to corroborate the story of the Filipinos, because these same Filipinos found out the hard way that they cannot count on their own government, their own President, and their own countrymen to believe their story.

Our Beloved President is saying that this is an isolated accident or event, because he is scared sh1tless by the Chinese for whatever reason, in that addled mind of his. China is merrily winning by default because of him.

Our Beloved President is also deliberately not seeing the forest for the trees. These so called "isolated" events are nothing more than parts of grand master plan to control the South China Sea. As Sr. Associate Justice Antonio Carpio puts it --

“The ramming of F/B Gemvir 1 is a quantum escalation of China’s aggressive acts against the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea. This may signal the start of a new “gray zone” offensive by China to drive away Filipino fishing vessels in the West Philippine Sea, in the same way that China is driving away Vietnamese fishing vessels in the Paracels,” Carpio said."

Does our Beloved President need some Filipino to die first at the hands of the Chinese before he is compelled to do the right thing?
