Doesn't the President of the Philippines have more pressing matters to worry about? Maybe her call wasn't returned because he is trying to set up the transition to office, coming up with his new cabinet, thinking of a way to solve the economic crisis he will be accepting when he takes office, there are so many reasons why her call wasn't returned. Maybe GMA and her staff should be doing the same to up lift the Philippine economy rather than worrying about why the US President-Elect didn't call her back. Malacanang should be working rather than gossip mongering and that's why the Philippines has a low GDP, leaders are too busy making gossip instead of doing their job.

    reality sucks...

what does the philippines need usa for?

if there really are gold dug upon the philippines all our debt arepaid for, if the wealth of marcoses, corrupt of ramos, overdoing of gma are summed up and paid for we might be on the top 10 good country in asia...

malacanan calls obama ungrateful...the votes obama gets from fil-am are just a tiny fraction, in fact negligible...ofw doesnt votes, yes there are a lot of filipinoes abroad but its only 10& of them votes, the rest are glorified server, bar girls, nanny, factory workers, odd job workers.

malacanan wants to bridge a good relationship with them so it will be easier to get projects or aid in any financial support... whereas if gma only kickbacks 1% of what she has been getting no financial support is needed...

where's erap's craps and wrong doings?

what's the big deal ba diyan? it's just a call. first of all, kaano ano ba ni gma si obama para tawagan agad siya?

I take exception to this comment. Fil-Am's are the second largest Asian American community in the US and California, about 500,000 of which live in Northern California and the other 2 million living in various parts of the country including Southern California. California accounts for 55 electoral college votes, to say that the Fil-Am vote is negligible is idiotic. The Fil-Ams in the US are professionals in various occupational fields, WE ARE NOT GLORIFIED SERVER, BAR GIRLS, as you put it. A lot are doctors, nurses, lawyers, military and law enforcement officers, corporate directors, etc. Even if we were those workers that you claim, we are not thieves, gang members, and other disease of society, we work hard to provide for our immediate and extended family both in the US and the Philippines sending money that helps the Philippine economy. For you to make your point about the stupidity of Malacanang by lessening the importance of the Fil-Am's vote and the contributions of Fil-Am's to American and Philippine society is insulting.

I strongly agree. My mother lives and works as a humble teacher in the US, handling Special Education for children with physical and mental disabilities. She excels so well in her noble profession, natatabunan pa nga ung katamaran ng mga American teachers dun. My point being, Filipinos actually do better than the Americans themselves in many ways. Wag natin maliitin ang ating mga kababayan, regardless of their profession. Let's focus our criticisms on Malacañang, PGMA and the tampururut who whipped up this ridiculous article
