Does it mean na mas ok si Mark Lapid at Leon Guerrero noon?

Panlilio accused of using 2010 polls as ‘graceful exit’

03/23/2009 | 10:13 PM

MANILA, Philippines - A political ally of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has accused Governor Ed Panlilio of using the 2010 presidential elections as a “graceful exit" from his “failed" leadership of Pampanga province.

Panlilio at ito [presidential bid] ay isang graceful exit sa pagka-gobernador niya," said Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo in an interview on local radio on Monday.

[Speaking as a citizen and a mayor of Pampanga, I can see that Gov. Panlilio is just joking and his (presidential bid) is just a graceful exit from his being a governor.]

In his almost two years in office, Panlilio hardly had any accomplishments except for "story telling," according to Pelayo.

Pelayo, one of the signatories in the recall petition against Panlilio said that while he had nothing personal against the governor, the public should choose a candidate “who has vision," and “who is right [for the position]."

sad to say mahirap i-recognize ang government as an authority since ang perception sa kanila ay isang organized syndicate.

How about a miraculous twist? Who will give in?

Palace taking Panlilio as standard bearer possible - exec
03/24/2009 | 02:29 PM

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang may look at the possibility of adopting Pampanga Governor Ed Panlilio as its standard bearer in the 2010 presidential elections, Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said Tuesday.

"While that is improbable it is not impossible. As I have said the President will support those who will continue her vision and those who have a proven track record in being the leader regardless of who he or she maybe as this point in time," Remonde said in a press briefing Tuesday.

Remonde's statement came after the announcement of Panlilio, a critic of the Arroyo administration, about the possibility that he would run for the highest office of the land with Isabela Governor Grace Padaca as running mate in the 2010 polls.

Panlilio, however, said he would give way to any candidate who he thinks could replace traditional politicians and institute genuine reforms.

Asked if the Panlilio-Padaca tandem worries Malacañang, Remonde said "it does not," adding that the priest-turned-governor’s bid is welcome “as anyone else’s is." - with a report fromAie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
