State of No Accomplishishments...expect the usual whining and endless finger pointing against the previous administration.

President Noynoy C. Aquino SONA 2011 S. President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino 2011 State of the Nation Address (SONA) | MyGEEGLE.Com

On July 25, 2011, President Benigno Noynoy Aquino will deliver his 2nd State of the Nation Address (SONA) before congress. 2011 SONA will mark his 2nd year as President of the Republic of the Philippines. President Noynoy (Pinoy in short) is the 15th President who promised the moon and the stars during his campaign in 2010 National Election who he won by landslide. State of the Nation Address (SONA) as mandated by the Philippine Constitution of 1987 – Article VII, Section 23 – shall be addressed before Congress at the opening of its regular session. He may also appear before it at any other time.

It was said that President Noynoy Aquino’s 2010 SONA lacked the specifics on how to tackle the mentioned problems of the country – peace and order, poverty, political divides, graft and corruption – just to name a few. Sincere as it sounded maybe, but seemingly, the expected deliverable of the Aquino administration are far short from what are expected based on the 2010 SONA. His 80% popularity rating after his inaugural speech last year is beginning to go down (71%) as of June 2011 based on Pulse Asia Survey which is a reflection that almost 10% are started getting disappointed about his total performance.

What’s the difference between 2011 SONA and 2010 SONA?

It’s a sad reality that every government have no political will to destroy the culture of “Free from punishment” if you are close to the president. Early on Noynoy’s reign as president of the land, the culture of cronyism and favoritism is obvious no matter how he tried explaining why majority of the men and women in his cabinet are his classmates (Kaklase) and friends (Kaibigan). Add to that are his shooting buddies (Kabarilan). In short, Noynoy Aquino has his own version of the popular KKK organization of the modern day.

If Noynoy Aquino will not address the issue of cronyism and favoritism, then his 2011 SONA will not be any different from his 2010 SONA. And worst, it will be sustained until 2016 which is another national election year.

Will Noynoy Aquino’s 2011 SONA will be filled with Excuses and Finger Pointing?

“Give us enough time. Remember, majority of the problems of today are legacies of the past administration” was once said by Noynoy Aquino (paraphrasing) in his speech in Mindanao when he visited the region addressing the water hyacinth clogging the Rio Grande river causing floods in the area.

Filipinos are patient enough to wait as attested by the 71% who still gave him satisfactory rating. But, if the same line of words are to be heard in his speeches in the coming year or months, that number (71%) will go down further.

Are we expecting a 2011 SONA of President Noynoy Aquino to be filled with excuses over his non-delivery based on his 2010 SONA, and full of finger pointing in the past administration?

Will Noynoy Aquino’s 2011 SONA will make mention on the Natural Calamities being the caused of undelivered promises yet?

It’s true that natural calamities are beyond our control. And we can’t blame Noynoy Aquino and the men and women in his cabinet. But his government is seemingly reactive rather than proactive which is a bad indicator of a good leadership. Observers and political analysts are saying that Noynoy Aquino is not strong enough to push his men and women to produce and/or deliver. He is not also decisive enough on what to do with some serious issues like what happened in the hostage taking of Hongkong nationals (most of them killed) by a suspended policeman who was shot dead after a failed negotiation.

Will Noynoy Aquino’s 2011 SONA filled with words devoted to his government breakthroughs?

In President Noynoy Aquino’s 2010 SONA, don’t you know that 1,558 words out of the 4,055 words in his 35-minute [speech] is devoted to whining about the plunder of the National Budget and the salaries and bonuses of some Government employees? It’s a part of his speech whom he asked congress to passed a bill to put a stop on the said fat salaries and bonuses (most of them are in GOCCs), and lo and behold, it was done.

I think it’s but correct to mention some of the major breakthroughs of this government, but it’s even best for the president to also admit some of his mistakes and promise to make corrections and do them quick.

coz the govt is the problem. nung si gma ang nakaupo sya rin ang tinuturo. ngayong si pnoy nakaupo sya naman ang ituturo.
unless the govt ay mapapatakbo ng hindi trapo, siguro nung lang natin pwede di finger point ang gobyerno. but, sa tindi ng sakit ng lipunan, it will always be a dream.
