    With the Navara's aerodynamics (it's shaped like a brick), it would take a lot of power... probably around 300 hp or more to hit 220 km/h... then about 400 to hit 240. (F150 lightning - 380 hp, 225 km/h. Dodge Ram SRT10 - 500 hp, 248 km/h).

Smaller cars like the 911 can go much faster with the same power... heck... a Focus with 180 whp can hit around 240 km/h (gear-limited).

Wana go faster? Time to invest in Strada-type bed aero-covers... and maybe some lowering...
Again, I say, never say it's impossible. I already heard someone claimed breaking 220kph at SCTEX, all-stock, GPS recorded. I am not one to encourage people to try it because it's not only scary but its also dangerous and not to mention it is illegal. IT IS NOT FOR ORDINARY PEOPLE! It's just that the Navara, coming from an owner who is not even an enthusiast, has an engine that is so powerful that the temptation to drive it to its limits will always be aroused once you see an open road ahead.. maybe that's why Nissan brands it as a Sports Utility Truck.

I just want to tell you that your weight-power-design-aero dynamics analysis make a lot of sense to me.. really! I'm a big fan! But I dont know about this bud, this pickup is packed with a lot of surprises.

    240kph? We'll see..

You've heard & felt it while I tried & saw the results between my cousins 3.0 ranger & my 2.5 4x4 navara.. Did it in our favorite playground SCTEX.. Navara won by a margin of two cars

I heard that Hyundai & Kia cars equipped with CRDi VGT can be a force to reckon with in terms of speed. Can they really beat other cars (Japanese, American, European, etc...) within their own class?

The Answer is YES, my cousin drove his souped up evo in SCTEX. He was accelerated really hard to reach his top speed quickly upon entering, when he was past 180kph, he was expecting his rearview mirror to be empty with the cars he left behind. when he looked back, There was a Hyundai Accent taxi right behind him and gamely keeping up. You can imagine our shock then laughter inside the car (pride and showoff fail!).

Epic fail! Haha! Evo that couldn't shake off an UNMODIFIED cab... Now I wonder, if that Accent has been tuned by Speedlab with all those niceties like Unichip, K&N filter, upgraded exhaust, bigger turbo & intercooler, etc, etc... It might actually be able overtake the Evo!

imho, Hyundai Accent is a pokemon (pocket monster) because it's got a very small body with a diesel engine under its bonnet. and diesel engines are often equated with TORQUE which means kaya niyang bumwelo kung gugutuhin ng nasa likod ng manibela. tapos kung lalagyan pa ng unichip et cetera, and slam a, let's say 18" wheels, it'll fly like a paper in the middle of a storm signal #4.

Minsan kapag sumasakay ako ng taxi, i would sometimes choose or hope to ride a Hyundai Accent. ang cute kase tapos ang tulin. ramdam mo ung G-Forces as it accelerates hard. damn. it is really a sleeper, a dragster in disguise. i want one of those just for something to play around kaso, very few safety ammenities. sayang.
