sir, keep the trooper. but ride on PUV. will take some time getting use to. but the savings were drastic when commuting.

consider this, while it is much comfortable having your personal vehicle, it is still inevitable that at one point or another, being in a tropical climate, we'll get storms and monsoon. in that case, the trooper comes handy.

hate to say it, but having a sedan is pain in the neck, especially in wet season.

Know what you mean about floods... had to replace a car once because of a freak flood. But it's something you learn to deal with. And if you take precautions, you'll be safe. Having a sedan just means that I don't go out if it looks dangerous. My cousin tried to brave monsoon rains once because his vehicle was big... and it got washed off the road. If your home and office don't get flooded, having a sedan isn't a problem. Just stay home. It's safer anyway.

Hmmm... Kia Pride, 1.3 liter engine, fuel efficient (likely 11-13 km/l in traffic), seats four. Looks like a$$, but spare parts very cheap. Shocks at 400 php, steering rack at 1000 php or so... even if you replace everything, you won't spend more than 20 thousand pesos.

Apparently they're very reliable if you take care of them. Friend's gf had one for years and had no headaches with it. She just recently sold it to get a bigger car. But for a commuter, you can't go wrong with a Pride. Handling is light and spritely, engine not as buzzy as a Daihatsu Charade (and the body is a bit more solid), and it's easy to park. Not very good on the highway, but that's not what it's for anyway.

Just make sure you don't buy a beat-up secondhand taxi. You can get one for 50-80k. These things are the VW Beetles of the 90's... real "People's Car".

Yes, they are right! You'll gonna need the space for a bigger family. SUV is more versatile than a sedan. But if you plan to purchase one again in the future when the need arises, you may opt for a fuel-efficient sedan.

Madaming Kia Pride sa Php 40-50k kung pang-harabas lang naman ang hanap mo. Bili ka ng ads paper.

Naghahanap din ako para sa kakilala ko, eh.

if evr u really want to sell the trooper na, get a 4x4 pickup so you still get the durability of an suv with the extra cargo space.
