Thanks Yoki, tried them last week, unfortunately the price they quoted was way too expensive! I had my Pathfinder fitted with a new Safari Snorkel back in 2001 and it only cost me 10500.00, now they're jacking the price up to 19500.00. Old stock pa yan, greeeeedy.

ganun talaga, the older the model, the rarer it is so higher the price....try mo to call armark or rats. look them up sa yellow pages, they might still have old stocks. safari and airtec ang brands ng snorkels.

Ang alam ko lang sa snorkel ay importante sa river crossing at sa baha. Ano pa po ba ang gamit o benepisyo ng paglagay ng snorkel? Ipagpaumanhin nyo po at di na ako nag-search kung meron na ganitong discussion.

Aside from added insurance against hydrolock while water crossings, snorkels also:
*Allow the engine to draw cooler air from outside the engine bay.
*Allow the engine to draw air from roof level where there is less dust compared to inside an engine bay.
*Makes you look 10x cooler.

The Suzuki Vitara snorkel is priced at Php12,000. as of last month.

Kahit ba completely submerged sa tubig ang "buong" engine ng isang snorkel-equipped na diesel engine ay hindi cya titirik?

Pwede pa din tumirik if the electricals or other components get contaminated. The engine may die midstream.

Pero hindi naman mababasag ang engine or engine internals as what would happen if water went into the intake.
