my guess...economics - especially in the sorry state of our country now. maybe for some folks the gas consumption of the expedition far outweighs the benefits offered by the rig (spacious, comfy ride, adequate power, etc).

yup, buyers market yan. mataas ang presyo na yan. you can even go as low as 800,000

i sold my 4x4 F150 for economic reasons. mahal ang gas tapos mahal ang maintennance dahil ang laki ng makina, mahal ang change oil. tapos brake pad, 5000 per piece ata.

everytime i went in for a 5000km checkup, pinka-mura na ang P10,000 pesos. Last november, ang bil ko ay 42,000 pesos sa 80,000 km checkup ko. that was the straw that broke my back and made me decide to sell it.

just think of this. i went to a used car lot and this is what i came away with dahil i was in such a rush to sell my F150 (bagong washover pa with 33" MTRs and 16x8 mags):

got there and saw a 1997 pajero that i liked. unang hirit ng agent, dagdag ako ng P150,000 (can you imagine that). I kept making tawad, and the lowest they would go would be dagdag pa ako ng P75,000. I ran the numbers, value of 1997 pajero, around 650 to 700,000 pesos. minus the 75,000, lalabas and F150 ko na 575 to 625,000. for me okay na yun, so kinuha ko na lang. nagmamadali kasi.

kung gagawin mong daily driver ang Expedition, huwag na huwag talaga, unless money is not an issue.

    xox,

luckytruck's right - the brake pads of the expedition are quite expensive. and since the car is quite heavy, i think almost 3 tons for the expedition, the pads wear out faster.
