OD is just 4th gear on the CR-V. It will not affect acceleration at all because you will still use first and second gear when going from a standing start. In fact, O/D should improve consumption once you hit cruising speeds (around 60 kph and above).
You only turn it off when you don't want the transmission to 'hunt' in between gears (see garyq's post).
O/D is supposed to be on most of the time. That's why the warning light goes on when you turn it off.

yup.. keep it on for city driving...
on my case. .wala ako nun. ahahha..
Kami dati naglalagay ng chain lock ng motor or bike. Iba nakita ko literal na kadena at padlock.
