Isuzu Forward pinaka-OK. Mas madali makahanap ng Isuzu parts at mas mura pa. Best websites to look for are ayosdito.ph and Sulit(dot)com(dot)ph

gaano kalaki ba yung truck na hinahanap mo? may elf/canter na mini-dump, meron din forward na dump truck. kung mini-dump go for isuzu. 4be1 or 4hf1 engine, 300k to 380k depnding on condition. mas matibay makina ng elf kesa canter

Para sakin, masmatibay pareho ang makina ng mitsu at isuzu. May mixed fleet kami ng mitsu, isuzu, kia at nissan trucks. Lahat gamit pang delivery. minimal maintenance. Yung 2 canter namin sobrang tanda na plate starts with w and t, di pa nabababa ang makina, never overhualed. Right now overhual namin yung isang isuzu 4hf1 engine. Subic unit so hindi ko alam ang previous history pero about 5 years namin ginamit before overhual.

With both brands, masmasakit sa ulo ang brakes and transmission.

2 yung canter isang 4 wheeler at isang 6 wheeler. Masmatanda yung 6 wheeler.

Cost ng overhual ng 4fh1 - around 30k in parts, 7500 sa machine shop and 7500 sa mechanic. Sabi ng mechaniko ko, malakas daw ang 4fh1, kahit 4 cylinder parang 6 cylinder kung humatak.

BTW, when i said minimal maintenance, I meant change oil when we remember. Sometimes over 6 months no oil change. Repair after failure. As long as it runs we use the truck.

driver ang pinaka-importante. walang bullet proof na trak sa barubal na drayber. lahat ng small trucks ko napag-overheat na ng mga "drayber". pag canter direcho motorpool baba na ang makina nyan. yung elf ayun tumatakbo pa din. 18 hrs operation, average of 100km per day, 8 tons cargo. sabi nga ni erpat "disposable" daw mga trak ko. expect 60-80k for the overhaul. my money's on the" eagle" 4be1.

i've known 2 of my neighbor's canter before were also heavily abused for more than 10-yrs without any overhauling done until they sold them.
can't find a canter mini dump truck when i need one that's why i ended up with a second hand 4HF1 6-wheeler elf mini dump truck at 420K only... am using it for 3-months now but made some changed-out on the piston rings and bearings recently.

Whatever you buy, make sure you:
    1. bring a mechanic to check the truck specially the engine, brakes, transmission, cooling system fans, radiator, water pump, hoses, the hydraulics for the dumper etc...
    2. replace all fluids - oil, transmission, coolant, gear oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid etc...
    3. overhaul the radiator, this just might save you from overheat and other cooling problems
    4. check the tires, sellers sometimes flip the tires so the outside is in good condition while the inside is worn out
    5. expect to replace the battery
    6. If it has a timing belt, change it. Most trucks dont have a timing belt AFAIk. But just in case it does change it.
    6. expect to wait a few weeks to a few months for LTO to get the clearances and register the truck.
    7. If its a subic unit, check the CR model year. If it says 1 instead of say 2001, make sure you get all the original docs from the seller. You may end up spending time getting that corrected at Subic LTO. Your local LTO fixer, I mean office will facilitate it but it will take time.
    8. ask the seller if it has a history of lto apprehension ranging from smoke belching to no seat belt. If it has, make sure he pays for it before you get it. Otherwise our friendly LTO flying squad will charge you for it. It dose not matter that it happened prior to you buying the truck.

check out sulit there are a few mini dump trucks posted
