What are the advantages of this? Till when do you bring it back for service?
Once lang after break-in. Then next oil changes I do myself. and all other maintenance. I'm happier with my own workmanship than some mechanic. Happy ako gumagawa (relaxation ko ito). Another reason is cost. Pag may problem na iba and I can fix it tapos mura lang ako na rin kahit under warranty pa. Pag malaki naman ang sira pinapabalik ko and they fix naman. Minsan mapapansin kong may napalitan pa na iba. may silent recall pala.
Haven't bought a new car in 2 years. nagbago na ba patakaran sa warranty? kailangan ba ang casa maintenance?

casa maintainance siguro habang under warranty pa.
kaya more like tiyagaan na lang after warranty BYE BYE casa.

I still go back to the casa when the car is under warranty, and i've already claimed some work repairs under warranty as well. Outside of the warranty, we go during the major service stops so i can make use of the computer diagnostics as well. The warranty claims based on regular shop maintainance varies between particular claims AFAIK.
The big factor on why i still go to the casa from time to time is because i can trust the head mechanic in the particular casa i go to. He has also solved something in one of our cars that a non-casa (or maybe even some casa) guys couldnt figure out... with a simple and free remedy at that.Also, some stuff in our cars cant be adjusted without the help of the CONSULT computer at the casa, or is easier to adjust and find particular settings with such (dang i love those things, i can adjust timing and stuff while the car is moving
)
However, i if i didnt know anyone or have good relations with the shop i go to, i wouldnt go there often either (especially when i'm out of the warranty period).Last edited by vinj; September 23rd, 2003 at 01:54 PM.

Signature

September 24th, 2003 12:14 AM #8Tama like me. NO computers at all. pwede ko ilubog sa tubig and not worry about anything. Hmmm... magimport kaya ako ng diagnostic computers? whatcha think guys? If I can give you that, pupunta ba kayo sa shop ko?

Want a timing belt tester? Or I could sell you a MARLIN unit, just point to a hidden bearing, it gets vibration, temp and grease density. Pwede pa upload sa PC.
