    musta po mga sirs....im new here but i've been a lurker for quite sometime and i find this forum very informative...i would like to ask for your help guys regarding BREAK-IN. tanong po mga sirs...
    - ANO PO BA ANG BREAK-IN?
    - BAKIT PO BANG KAILANGAN I BREAK-IN ANG ISANG BAGONG DIESEL ENGINE NA SASAKYAN?(LETS SAY ADVENTURE)
    - ANO PO BA ANG TAMANG PAMAMARAAN NA PAG BREAK-IN AT ANO ANG DAPAT KONG IWASAN?

    the most common is not to go beyond 100 kph during the first 1000km then bring it to casa

    yAwK::: Yung break-in period ng makina para tumagal at hindi mapwersa ang internal parts ng engine. Pag bagong kabit medyo mahigpit pa lahat ng parts nito. There are times na maliit ang tolerance gap ng bawat parts. Kaya sinabing break-in para hindi pwersahin ng new owner agad yung makina.

    Pag hindi mo sinunod yung break-in period mo, malamang sa may mapwersa na parts which would render your engine's ability to perform like it was made to. Hindi lang naman sa diesel engines ang break-in period, pati sa gas-fed engines kailangan din.

    Other would suggest that you don't run aburpt speeds, no sudden acceleration and engine brakes should not be practiced. You can run it on highways provided that you monitor your speed like kimpOy pointed out. Don't run the engine on long steady speed, variation in speed would help; ie: 60-80, 40-60, 70-50, so on and so forth. Avoid long idle time, if you have to wait for someone, turn off the engine. Towing and extra heavy loads are not allowed. Iwasan mo yung manggigil sa silinyador, wag biglang arangkada at biglang hinto. Drive softly. Don't rev up to the redline district, shift as early as possible but not to the point that there's no momentum for other gears. Lastly, drive like there is a fresh egg in between your foot and the fuel pedal.

    relax lang sa pagtapak sa mga pedal at paglipat ng kambiyo.

    di ba ang brakes kailangan din ng break-in..?
