Try to go to Southwoods-Rosario ang people there will know. I dont have your big bad machines, but i do have the guts.Still have those grass/plastics attached to the radiator, tinatamad pa ako maglinis.just my experience.

September 7th, 2003 05:04 AM #24bow wave yun. like my experience. malakas tumulak exhaust gas ng diesel. don't think you have to rev it that high. I don't believe in having to rev high cuz your tailpipe is underwater. I've tried covering my pajeros exhaust pipe with a slipper. no matter how hard i tried, di ko mapigilan lumabas hangin.
i don't think you have to turn off your aircon either. maybe only because the water would stop your aux fan from spinning and overload it.
If i were you, di ako iikot. ang layo eh. lusong ako and enjoy every minute of it. onga pala, kung manual ka, first gear ka then keep your foot off the clutch. pansin ko sa mga di 4x4 dumudulas clutch pag nalulubog sa tubig. happend to my MB100 and my corona '82. Also my friends tamaraw fx na kinabitan namin ng homemade snorkel.

September 10th, 2003 04:18 PM #27when crossing flood, why is it a no no to step on the clutch?
Kapag di nakatapak sa clutch paano mag high rev without the car running fast kahit naka 1st gear?

They cause what machinist call "hot spots", hardened metal part that is difficult to machine. Pangalawa, you have to drain transmission oil that blends with water.
When crossing flooded water above exhaust with a diesel engine, di na kailangan mag hi-rev. Trust us, we've been there. :D

Just psych yourself out that the engine will not die even if the exhaust goes under.
Yes, it will get quieter but it does not mean that it is dying. Just drive steady. FOOT OF THE CLUTCH as we were taught in 4x4 driving school.
